IMPORTANT UPDATE JUST ANNOUNCED:

TONIGHT'S CONCERT - THE ROLLING STONES - OLYMPIASTADION: ADMISSION STARTS ONE HOUR LATER AT 6 PM

Due to the announced bad weather conditions with heavy rain, lightning and storm gusts this afternoon, the admission of the Rolling Stones concert at Munich's Olympiastadion will be postponed by one hour from 5 to 6 pm. This measure serves to protect the fans and all those involved in the production. The Rolling Stones concert is currently scheduled to begin at 8:45 pm.

We ask all fans to adapt their clothing to the weather situation and to think of rain jackets, rain ponchos or similar. ATTENTION: Umbrellas are not allowed in the stadium!

The Olympic Stadium in Munich was built for the Summer Olympics 1972; today it is one of the city’s landmarks. The tent roof made of PLEXIGLAS® is the most extraordinary part of the stadium which even covers parts of the surrounding Olympic Park.

At the time, the tent-like roof of the Munich Olympic Stadium was an architectural sensation the likes of which had never been seen before! The transparent roof was to symbolize airiness and openness, as well as provide a structural separation between the second Summer Olympic Games in Germany and those of National Socialist times. The transparency of the roof also made it possible for the Summer Olympics and the matches of the 1974 FIFA World Cup (which Germany won) to be televised in color, a technology which was still in its infancy at the time.

Good morning, Munich!

Managed to sleep in after a bit of a late night last night (Got to bed at around 2 AM...).

Glad the hotel has the breakfast extended until noon.

Yesterday at the Olympiapark I ran into schwonek and his son, who are staying at the same hotel. Lots of Stones fans here, which is no surprise, because it's only a 20 min walk from the venue.

Fingers crossed for 1) not too much rain, 2)Worried About You in the vote - and lastly: 3) dip luck tonight.

Oh yeah, as somebody pointed out, lots of pit tickets available on Eventim.

There is a 90% chance of rain today. First a shower with wind in the afternoon around 3pm, then a few more showers around 6pm to 9pm.

I don‘t care about rain. What‘s makes we worried is thunder and halestorms. This severe weather warnings from DWD do not sound good.

That precisely is the trouble. Predictions still do not look too promising and probably will not change too much through the afternoon. Let’s hope venue, stage etc. don’t face too much damage so it can be entered after the thunderstorms without severe delays.

I just want to say this is going to be my first ever Rolling Stones concert and I am super excited! I am 24 years old and have been a fan since childhood, but an especially dedicated one since around 2012 when I first discovered this site and started researching the band's deep back catalog and unreleased gems, watching historical tours and performances, learning fun facts and trivia, and had tons of discussions about virtually everything Stones-related.

Stones last played in my city of Zagreb in 1998, the year I was born! But luckily I just moved to Munich a few months ago and there is nothing stopping me from seeing them (and I finally earn money and have enough for a ticket ). I hope to be able to meet and mingle with other fans before the show starts. Not even a thunderstorm can stop us!

Just a reminder to y'all, bring enough cash! It's cash only today at the Olympiastadion.

There is a huge problem with card payments in Germany at the moment (which could have been solved, if they'd use other payment terminals on the site) so only cash payements are possible.

Withdrawals from your account via ATM etc is possible, so you can get cash at local banks in Munich.

...unfortunately my friend and me couldnt get a room at the Royal so we checked in at the Leonardo Residenz...at least not far away.

Tonight is show #25 all-time for me.

Some heavy rain is coming from Switzerland
and may reach Munich in the afternoon. Maybe you're lucky and the rain will pass Munich in the west.

For me it‘s #20, same venue as the first one 32yrs ago. It did rain then…

I would take that to mean that small pocket compact cameras with integrated lenses are fine. I think they mean professional cameras with detachable lenses.
