One thing that always stuck with me from the movie "Gimme Shelter" was how centered and caring Charlie was. He came across as a very thoughtful person.

It is really rough without him in the band for me.

Saw the stones yesterday for the first time since charlie has gone. Steve Jordan did a great job, but when the concert ended and I saw the three standing there without their old mate I couldnt help but feel a strange kind of sadness. Happy Birthday Charlie, your drumming and your smile and eyes laughing silent about the jagger moves will be missed.

Steve is great and he gets all my respect, but it isn't the same without Charlie. It's still kind of hard to believe he's gone.
