Do you consider his lyrics to be poetry?

That was an interesting piece of information ... 1968. What did Mick learn from that encounter? Jim not communicating with the audience = boring? Their music? Boring?
Anyway, Mick already knew very well how to interact with the audience (as did Brian in the early years, before he was "placed" behind Mick). Mick already knew how to interact with cameras (read: people at home). He also already had James Brown as an example. So?
Also interesting is that Mick was already anticipating on an American tour. And also interesting was the presence of American Jimmy Miller. Apart from being a great producer, also the American Connection. Brian Jones being part of the discussions is also interesting, considering the poem that Jim Morrison made about him later on. Why would Mick be interested in Brian's (joined) girlfriend Nico? Mysterious Mick.

I read this before and I’m pretty sure the conversation happened the day the doors played the Hollywood bowl. Bad day for Mick to chat with Jim. grinning smiley

"Mick flew to L.A. in July 1968 specifically to meet with Jim Morrison and ask him how to be a better performer."

By happy coincidence, Jimmy Miller and The Rolling Stones had booked sessions at Sunset Sound for mixing and overdubbing of BEGGARS BANQUET throughout the month of July 1968 as well. Mick Jagger felt a right prat when they all met at Heathrow and he had to confess he was only flying to L.A. to ask Jim Morrison for advice and was unaware the band planned to finish their album there as well. "What a silly ass I am," said Jagger and resolved to ask Jim Morrison how to keep track of studio sessions when he saw him.

The joy of Clickbait Journalism.

No. It's just the usual music biz exaggerations. Almost everything is blown up outta any proportions. However, there's a small ounce of truth in that story: Fact is - they actually met.

That's very likely true. But the story, er, article, is probably bunk. It wreaks of West Coastisnm. Especially the bit about Mick sitting in the front row and Morrison essentially clamming up.

Among other falsisms ie fake news.
