OT: Coldplay offer "lucky dip" style ticketing

Wonder how many other acts offer these kinds of tickets.

I know that Bruce Springsteen has been known to upgrade people from the nosebleeds to front row, but that's another thing.

That goes to prove there'll be just one single touring model for super-big acts :
extortionate ticket prices and what I'd call "rock millionaires' guilt" a bunch of low-priced tickets à la "Lucky Dips".

I wonder how U2 will call their own "Lucky Dips" system? "Bono's kind gesture"? grinning smiley

Same here. As for that offer. I don't know, if you're a big fan you wanna be up front. Will you really take that risk to get a nosebleed, even if for 20 $?

Yeah. Janet Jackson used to do that too. They held a couple of front row tix back and her dancers, assistants, security guard would go out upgrading random (or not so random) people. That was great. Seems to be a thing of the past now.
