Is it conceivable that they'd simply retire after this SIXTY Europe 2022 tour?

After Europe ? The idea is One last leg in south America / One other leg in Asia or / and Australia and finaly a return next summer in Europe to closed the sixty years anniversary and this incredible History. If everything goes well with health issues of course. Get ready winking smiley

quite unlikely – if the rumors about a new stage are true it's quite absurd to design a new stage for just 12 shows (14 minus 2x Hyde Park)

I think it will depend on this tour and how well the principles are playing/singing.

I heard those South America rumors as well, a while ago. Not sure if there's any fire to that smoke.

Before South America and Mexico, i think is the turn of Japan, China, Australia & NZ leg,.

Yeah, gotta keep that "new material" charade going to pretend they're not an oldies band ;-) A week of "writing" in Turks, Pocé, NYC will do just fine !
And once the touring days are over, so next year ? Then they won't have to worry about answering that question anymore in tour promo interviews !

are you serious?

because that would definitely be new ground for them

and it would probably call for another ole! ole! style documentary

anyways i think it was the british ambassador to mexico that said a show was in the works in mexico for next year

how sure are you of this?

after el mocambo i'm willing to give what you say some weight

and this does sound pretty likely to me

then again didn't keith just say that he never plans to retire

and i can't imagine any big 60th anniversary tour not including some shows in the us

but i'm sure a few could be arranged at the end of the latin american tour before next summer like in 2016

Actually I wasn't being entirely serious, but I can see Keith liking the idea

sorry ranting on and on

but i would hate for them to end as a touring band on there 60th anniversary

it just doesn't seem very stones like to me for some reason

it should end like it did hollywood fl last year

just the last show of a tour with all the "could this be the last time speculations"

with the realization afterwards that it was because they just don't do another show

and thats it no big announcement, no giant celebration, no taking it super serious

just the end and you where either lucky enough to be there or not

ah to bad

that be good idea one of the last place they haven't really given a full tour

and probably would have made a great tour documentary too

Im not "sure"... Each leg is a step by step but yes i think it's a 15 months plan for them at the moment. So if everything's ok and they are playing at least like us tour 2021...yes.
It's all on Jagger now, this european tour will be a huge challenge specialy for him at this stage. I'm really curious and a bit nervous smiling smiley

Can"t wait for those shows and hope once again they gonna shut up our mouths smiling smiley

A new album.

Another run of shows somewhere. I like the idea of a tour of the continent of Africa, but I'd imagine the two Johannesburg shows in '95 will remain their sole performances there. If I were a betting man, I'd wager a tenner on South and Central America. What I really want them to do, however: get their arses in gear, finish off, and release a new studio album!

A NZ/Australia leg would be a dream come true. Hell, I'd consider making the trip to Japan too. My partner is Japanese so I could sell it as a trip to visiting her family with a Stones show tacked on hehe.

Definitely Europe again! The other option is Japan/ Australia, but that's a fragile topic due to restrictions that are still going on in Japan.

Let's keep our fingers crossed to see them again in other locations in Europe. smiling smiley
