Or train and bus tickets for short distances are just far too extensive. I'm taking the car only for small distances because a few stations on the bus already cost like 4€. Now if the 9€ ticket/month comes in Germany I will only take the bus and train. For long disctances the train is mostly cheaper nowadays than the cars, so I always take the train for these.Quote

I visited Nashville in Feb. I will pay $3 more for gas to live here. It was fun for a long weekend but since I own a home here no need to move to save money for a house.

Glad you liked it. My house went up 60% in value in the last 18 months thanks to the west coasters moving here. House prices near Nashville have skyrocketed.

Nashville is such a great city, with lots of building going on. I do prefer Memphis, though I haven't been in many a year, so don't know how it looks these days. I know the crime is a bit high.

In Vancouver close to $6.00 US for a US gallon. That's supposedly the highest in North America.

Yeah, I should have! I also checked L.A. after Daspy's posted and it's closing in on 7.00 there, so they get the honor's I guess.
Part of the reason BC's gas price is so high is the taxes, is that the issue in California?

€2.18 per litre in Holland today. The highest price in the world. They're pushing us towards hybrids and full electric cars by making the gas unaffordable. Leftwing parties here in Holland propose to levy taxes on meat and airline tickets too. They're fully into megalomaniac billion dollar climate plans of the European Union and we, the people, are going to bleed for that.
