Vancouver generally has the highest gas prices in North America and currently gas is $2.22/L. Cdn. Converted to a US gallon (3.78L) and factoring currency exchange, it is about $6.71 US per gallon. I live outside of Vancouver so it's a bit cheaper.
I drive a Corolla and it costs me over $80 to fill my tank now! 2 years ago when covid first hit, gas was down to 79 cents a litre but since we couldn't go anywhere, no one needed to fill up very often! I pity people that drive big pick up trucks where it can now cost well over $200 to fill a tank!

How much is everyone else paying?

Just gassed up in Calgary, Canada @ Costco for 1.69.9/L. Province recently stopped charging their sales tax , approx. 0.13 cents/litre in order to appease angry citizens and also another desperate attempt by our Premier, Jason Kenney to improve his ever sagging popularity with Alberta voters.

I distinctly remember when gas went over $1/gallon for the first time (before we flipped to metric) in summer ‘76. I guess ‘sticker shock’ never wears off.

I like when I watch US news and how people are outraged when gas goes up 10 cents a gallon! How about here in Canada when it goes up over 10 cents a litre!!

I don't drive but unfortunately always shopping for airline tickets.

Yeah, Up until just recently honestly it didn't really affect me, in a noticeable way at least, as I have a short commute and don't drive much. Then, last week I was going somewhere I noticed I had half a tank. I decided just to fill up before I left so I didn't have to worry about it later and it was 50 Dollars. For Half a tank. Out of control. I looked at the sign and it said 5.87 a gallon. I guess that's what it comes out to now. Haven't had to get gas yet since then.

i don't drive but others in my household do and our car is a 88 honda accord so kind of a gas hog compared to more newer cars but we're poor so it's what we can afford

but we have to drive quite a bit

and it's a 4 mile round trip to get to he post office

16 mile round trip to the nearest grocery store or gas station

and if we wanna go somewhere where we can afford to shop (walmart, fred myers etc.) then it's nearly 100 miles round trip to centalia/chehalis or 120 miles to puyallup/tacoma

it adds up after a while

About $5 a gallon in Seattle. Whilst not quite as high as California, Washington state has very high taxes on gas.

beside that: the gas price is still too low – people a still taking their cars for small distances

I dunno.

After Hurricane Katrina I was paying over $5 a gallon, so, whatever. So it costs about $100 to fill up. It was more then. That's just how it is. I don't have to fill up 26 gallons but I do because, eventually, it's all the same in regard to how much gas one needs and uses.

Well, you can "always look at it from the bright side of life" (as the Monty Pyton gang used to sing ).
We're all on the same ship (as Mick used to sing ) so we (who use gas) all have to pay for the rise. Life goes on and (as GLS says ) they still buy Starbucks ...
The human race will prevail.
Imagine the caldera underneath beautiful Yellowstone will give way, then the whole of North America will be gone. Still there will be 7 billion people around to talk about it. And imagine an solid astriode hitting China ... 2 to 3 billion people will disappear from the surface of our globe ... but still 5 billion will be around (okay, under miserable conditions, but they have still something to talk about ).
So what to worry about? The Stones will be on the road again soon! Worries? No! Fun!
