Apologies if already posted:
A cool 15 minute documentary made by a colleague of mine, about Dick Taylor's tragic decision to leave the Rolling Stones in 1962.

Cool images from the first rehearsal room of the Stones, Mick Jagger's elementary school performance and some film material of the Pretty Things.
Luckily the Dutch don't voiceover interviews smiling smiley

Appeared on TV in 1998 on the day of the Den Haag Malieveld gig.

Tragic for who? Didn't they move him over to bass? Was he any good at it? That guy they finally settled on was the best.

I love this doc! I've watched it several times, it's very short but contains a lot of interesting info about the early years of the Stones!

Fascinating, thank you for posting. always loved Dick's band, the Pretty Things. Seen them several times, but not for years now. Don't know if they still play in and around London. Anyone know ?

Unfortunately Phil May passed away in 2020, Dick Taylor & Tallyman will perform in the Stones Fan Museum in Lüchow in Germany in Mai 2025.

Thanks for posting
Keith speaks about the pre Watts-Wyman area in Life.
He says it was a powerful rythm section with a different feel
Was it Carlo Little and Dick Taylor?

Doesn't seem like they ever really had a steady drummer before Charlie. Little, Mike Avory (later of the Kinks), and Tony Chapman seems to have all played some with the Stones.

I presume shattered1978 felt it was tragic.

They retired in 2020. Dick still does stuff tho I'm pretty sure.

I went to what was billed as their final performance at the London O2 Indigo in 2018, with David Gilmour and Van Morrison guesting.

Neat! I hope you had a good time. Were they good?

Yes, they were, with Dick Taylor the particular highlight for me. I'd seen them several times before and always enjoyed their performances but that night it was a bit sad to think it was their last. It's good news that Dick Taylor is due to perform at the Stones Fan Museum this year. We look forward to a report on here from anyone who attends!

I think it's really lovely that Dick keeps performing. Would be neat if he could do a guest spot for the Stones at some point.
