Ah well that makes sense now. Wonder if they used the wrong list for Madrid or they’re not ready for those or someone is actually reading peoples negatives comments on here. I’d be disappointed with Beast of Burden but I won’t be there so… confused smiley

Excellent set list. They've never played Out of Time, that is gigantic and some of the other cuts rarely played as well. They are almost 80, going on tour for their 60th and still throwing in a few new gems.

According to Gazza/rocksoff.org, Out Of Time was played live in 1966. I think he cited Bill Wyman's book as a source.

I don’t see the fan vote song rehearsed at all??

Beast Of Burden

[vote.rollingstones.com]

Hey Dan. The reason he stated that is that yesterday the vote for Madrid was put up and the choices were Wild Horses, Angie, Ruby Tuesday and Fool To Cry. I did a screen capture of it. I’ve never seen this before where they change a list after it’s already been posted and receiving votes.

I guess, it's a mistake on the website and it's the vote for Munich.
Fool to cry!!

Do you have a link - to my knowledge out of time has never been played since the “aftermath “ session.

Gazza mentioned that in a comment/Facebook discussion. I think he referred to Bill's book "Rolling With The Stones".

He also has it on his setlists page here:

[rocksoff.org]

Gazza - if you see this, do you have something to add?

(Note that timeisonourside.com says Out Of Time was "possibly performed onstage in 1966". [www.timeisonourside.com])

Thanks for all the reports. LOVE the songs they've been rehearsing and think Mother's Little would be a great opener. I wish they would film their rehearsals and release so we could all enjoy these songs we never get to hear live.

Hi JM,

Thanks for sharing this: I love hearing about the behind-the-scenes stuff.

A 24" Ride being used as a Crash? Gawd, hah-hah!

Great to see SJ using one of Charlie's old Chinas too.

Bring on the Anfield show!

Cheers,

Simon.

*EDIT* didn't realise that it had already been posted...bless you IORRians!

Thanks. It is so sad that Charlie isn't here to celebrate their 60th, but I am really thankful that Steve is playing with them. He has a good aura about him, or maybe it's his big smile, but there is something about him that I really like, besides his playing. And I do believe Charlie is still with them.

I just made a quick report here:

The Rolling Stones SIXTY European Tour 2022 rehearsals (Stoneslife.org)

The plan was to add lists of rehearsed songs, but time is short, and the sun is shining in Madrid now. The lists will be added for documentation purposes later, as soon as there is time.

Spending a month workshopping 80 songs and only to barely change anything, over and over again, is sort of hilarious at this point.

No at the rehearsal stage they play FOR themselves.
During the 2012 (or 2014?) ones we heard an outstanding version of "How Strong My Love Is", in which Jagger gave it all to an audience of a few bored roadies inside and a bunch of extatic fans outside.
They did for the sheer pleasure of playing music, which I find admirable.

At those photo's the upper lip was not there, so it was a stage under construction. I think the stage looks better withouth the lip lol.

i would love that

and i am very sure that anything they do on the stage rehearsal or show since at least 89 maybe 81 has been filmed and archived

so there is always the possibility that some of this leaks in the future or they release it themselves

I think it looked better without the upper lip or any of the decoration - just a massive black stage....sort of ominous, but no distracting garish '80's design and colors. They could have even opened with Paint it, Black.
And of course it would have still been used for projecting special effects, visuals, and close-ups of the band in action, but now everything is squeezed in with the distracting cartoon-esque border.

Looking forward to the fireworks and setlists - the first show will be in the history books by this time tomorrow. thumbs up

They played "That's How Strong My Love Is" at the LA Echoplex Club Gig in 2013.

I’ve never seen SFM as an opener. I’d love it.

Huh? Were have you been in 2018?

I mean I haven’t seen it in person. I saw them last time in 2017, and didn’t catch them in ‘18.
