The first one that came to mind is "Elvis In Memphis" that Rockman posted the cover of.

Regarding Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed; they're close, but no cigar, due to a couple of tracks; Sister Morphine, You Gotta Move, Country Honk and You Got Silver. Great tracks, but no hit-potential, I'd say.

There will always be people who have caught up something others never have heard of. I know I have an uncovered area made up of bands like Traffic and Family. I have an idea of what they are about. I guess it`s blues rock in the vein of Cream and Blind Faith. You could do no wrong listening to that kind of music in those days. Posthumously, I`ve checked out bands like Ten Years After and Wishbone Ash, being only mildly impressed. I know there are bands like Taste, Groundhogs, Edgar Broughton Band, Canned Heat and Collosseum. However, you can`t know them all. My main impression is that Led Zeppelin outdid most of those bands, `cause they were so much heavier.

The Beatles, "White Album"
The Who - Quadrophenia
Chuck Berry is on Top
The Clash - London Calling

... just about any Stones album, pre-Undercover

yeah, dunno how I missed London Calling, that one's a no-brainer.

White Album though? So many not great tracks.

Not to me, other than the Revolution #9 throwaway.

Yes, London Calling, easy no-brainer, everyone needs to add that one to their lists!

Springsteen’s Born in the USA was a greatest hits album! 8 of the tracks were top 10 hits I think.

Forgot about this one too

Those are good choices. I would add Achtung Baby to that list.

I was happy with Bruce`s "The River". Then came "Born in The USA". How could he top the previous one? We got "Dancing in The Dark". -Hmm, a tad muted to be a hit single, plus "Bobbie Gene", huh? It sounded like a leftover from "The River". We`ve already had that sort of stuff.

I remember buying Pink Floyd`s "Wish You Were Here" when it came in the shops. I had my on take on The Floyd that said "Now, let`s hope for something other." That was what we got, but Roger Waters had a couple of wry numbers that didn`t fit with my romantic idea of the band; "Welcome to The Machine" and "Have a Cigar".

My first thoughts have already been taken - Thriller, Born In The USA, and Cosmos Factory.

I submit the Purple Rain soundtrack.

"Levelling The Land" is an album that feels like a best-of but you gotta be into the Levellers I guess

Wow, of course, bullet proof.

Actually I'm seeing a lot more of those that at first I remembered.

Love the Levellers. Sadly they never made much of a splash in the states.

Great to know I'm not alone! Perhaps they were just too topical for the record company to give them a chance internationally...

Breaking down the top two Stones albums in this category...

LET IT BLEED...virtually bulletproof.

Gimme Shelter
Love In Vain
Country Honk
Live With Me
Let It Bleed
YGTS
Monkey Man
YCAGWYW

I think any one of these could have been released as a single, Country Honk maybe the weakest and a version of it was a single.

STICKY FINGERS

Brown Sugar
Sway
Wild Horses
Can't You Hear Me Knockin'
You Gotta Move
Bitch
I Got The Blues
Dead Flowers
Moonlight Mile

In an album with just possibly even more highlights, I think the 'weak track' and by that I only mean no single potential is You Gotta Move, but even that could have worked.

It's almost shocking that some of these songs from either album weren't singles. Dead Flowers? Come on! Can't You Hear Me Knockin'? Moonlight Mile???! Gimme Freakin' Shelter?!!!!!

Not including any Stones, just off the top of my head:

Van Halen1
Highway To Hell
Back In Black
Born In The USA
Scarecrow
Hysteria
What's The Story Morning Glory

Well, isn't that British young dude, that orange head, Ed Sheeran or what is his name, showing in practise the issue here: when he released his album, all the songs went to UK Top Ten. Was he holding something like the whole bloody top nine with all of his songs.

Love - Forever Changes

Controversial choice? I don’t think so…the album deserves its long-touted praise IMHO. Some of the most beautiful string arrangement and orchestration that has graced any pop/rock records ever.
