OT: All-Time Favorite Albums
Posted by: VoodooLounge13 ()
Date: April 8, 2022 21:27

Seeing the thread about one's Top 4 musical acts got me thinking about one's all-time favorite albums. I'm in the process of trying to rank my top ones myself and putting together a playlist comprised of all of them on my iPod. My Top 5 are definite, but the ranking from there I couldn't even begin to sort thru as yet. Can't be more than a single album from any one artist. I put a ? at the 6 spot so that the numbering continued. As I said, the Top 5 are in order, the rest are random off the top of my head. These would be desert island type albums. So far, this is my list:

1. Neil Young - Harvest Moon
2. The Beatles – Abbey Road
3. The Rolling Stones – Voodoo Lounge
4. Led Zeppelin – IV
5. The Who – Who’s Next
6. ?
7. Tom Petty – Highway Companion
8. REM – New Adventures in Audio Hi-Fi
9. Depeche Mode – Violator
10. Cher – Heart of Stone
11. Paul McCartney – Tripping The Live Fantastic

Okay! Here are, probably, the twenty albums that mean the most to me, for one reason or another. Ranking in favouritism order is too tricky, so I’ve listed them chronologically. Also, I have tried to stick to one album per-artist/group.

Revolver – The Beatles
Strange Days – The Doors
Led Zeppelin II – Led Zeppelin
Let it Bleed – The Rolling Stones
Who’s Next – The Who
Never Mind The Bollocks – The Sex Pistols
Setting Sons – The Jam
Let’s Dance – David Bowie
Meat is Murder – The Smiths
Appetite for Destruction – Guns N’ Roses
The Stone Roses – The Stone Roses
Nevermind - Nirvana
The Holy Bible – Manic Street Preachers
Definitely Maybe - Oasis
Pinkerton - Weezer
Is This It – The Strokes
Up The Bracket – The Libertines
American Idiot – Green Day
Happiness in Magazines – Graham Coxon
Back to Black – Amy Winehouse
