Evening Gown - Jerry Lee Lewis feat. Mick Jagger

What a great gem they dug up for Jerry Lee Lewis' Last Man Standing record. I wonder who found it, Jerry, Mick suggestion, a producer somewhere. It sounded familiar when I bought the record 15 years ago but it took some searching then to find it on Wandering Spirit. Totally different take and totally different song. Pretty amazing what production can do to change a track. Always makes me wonder how many bands or artists have hidden gem songs that just appeared on forgotten albums or weren't seen through properly.

Anyway, a great track that I'm sure many have heard but deserves a revisit. Excellent vocal performance from Mick here:

I prefer this Jerry Lee version to the Wandering Spirit version.

Totally agree! WS version is dated in a way the JLL one isn't
