To add to ProfessorWolf's great youtube list, here is Jagger's version of "Memory Motel" in its original setting in BEYOND THE GROOVE music film (1990).

from the Apple preview the song sounds good for its purpose.
Still, I don't know how it would fit in a Rolling Stones record.

Only if you expect the same old, same old from a Stones record. I like the Brecht/Weillian touch of the song, something the Stones never explored before!

Well, some consider "Knocking on Heaven's Door" a pretty strong Dylan classic despite being just a soundtrack song...

I wanted to like it, but couldn't. It's that same crabby old man who is hard of hearing voice that reminds of "One Day, One Night" on SuperHeavy. Picturing Mick yelling at little kids to quit playing on his lawn is not a good memory. Not the worst solo Mick ever. I prefer the various snippets to "England Lost" and "Charmed Life." That's something I suppose.

Mind you, I defend "Back to Zero" and prefer "Let's Work" to the above tracks.

Soundwise it seems (the little snippet....) that it would fit perfectly in a "Blue & Lonesome part II - The Weimar Connection"

For once the talking - mick speaking about the kurt weill vibe of the music - seems to match the reality
somehow

Here's one of them... One of Dylan great atmospheric songs, like Watchtower and others.

Wouldnt Fingerprint File suit the series better?

Listened to the preview a few times...

It's not too bad, but a bit too retro sounding. Too cabaret. Too theatrical. Sort of a contrived Screamin Jay Hawkins meets Cab Calloway vibe, and Mick's vocals are way too exaggerated and over the top.
There's also a hint of Stray Cat Strut (which is far superior tune to this), but Mick's tune turns that particular bluesy style almost into a mockery. As Mick said "still kind of bluesy without being a blues". Yes. No.
I suppose it fits the purpose of an online streaming series, but beyond that it's rather forgettable - not too bad, but not too good either, and I probably don't need to hear the tune in it's entirety.

I've listened to the whole 3m:33s of the song and it's basically nothing other than in the preview by Apple Music.

Not bad, the "bells" towards the end of the snippet remind me of John Barry's stellar "Persuaders" theme. Mick sounds like he's singing through the same microphone as for "All of Your Love". Makes him sound like Tom Waits a bit and the music is similar too, particularly the "Raindogs" album where Keith plays on a few songs.

I know some people do. But to be honest: 'Knocking on Heaven's Door' is most likely the most overrated Dylan song (I don't say it's a bad song but it's overrated)

sounds like Jagger has been listening to Tom Waits and Dylan's Sinatra adventures quite a lot. At least the instrumentation reminds me a lot of Waits and Dylan's last records

Okay, my mistake. A bad, weak counter example from my side. Lots of people are just idiots, as far as taste goes. Me included.smoking smiley

Sounds like a cousin to LIAGT. Not bad but not too memorable either. Mick’s over the top phrasing sounds almost as he’s doing mockery of his own singing style. If that makes any sense…

Listened to it - it's a good theme song. A good lingering melody with a spooky feel to it. I guess that was what was intended. The singing, maybe, could have been tuned down an inch.
That's a matter of taste of course. But overall a good theme song.
