I saw Amyl and the Sniffers this weekend in Chicago. I loved their show so much!! Unfortunately they are touring with Green Day in Europe.

The Dirty Knobs are booked this summer too. I saw them in April. Catchy tunes!

Leaving room for The Ghost Hounds. Lol, once was good. Have the Stones recycled openers?

Amyl were outstanding. Tied with Nick Cave for best show I've seen since concerts started again. The openers C.O.F.F.I.N. were pretty good, too. I wrote about this elsewhere on the forum but I got to meet & talk to Amy for a bit. A lovely lady & very down to earth, The she turns into Iggy Pop onstage! I got a great picture with her, too. In must've been good karma. I had an extra ticket (the show was way sold out) & gave it away. Amy came out to greet the people in line early & came right up to me. We talked Aussie bands. She was just super nice! smoking smiley

Looking at their tour schedule in Paris it could be St Paul And The Broken Bones

Yes, great choice!

Here's hoping London gets an equally credible 'indie' act from yesteryear!

Love Amyll but the stage of the Stones would be to big and the crowd to old for her.

Big name for Liverpool. Hope to hear more about the rest soon.

Tim Burgess supported The Stones at MEN arena Sept 2003.

Brilliant news, saw them in Leeds a month ago, superb, although Mac was his usual incoherent (happy) drunk self between songs.

Hmmm...not sure if I would enjoy listening/watching to some 'drunk' performance...
Not even sure if I care who will support the Stones during the Tour.
I just travel here and there to see my favorite Band though....

Johnny Marr would be a good choice for Hyde Park, I think.

doesn't affect mac's performance

just our ability to understand a word he says between songs!

They should get Amyl & the Sniffers to open a show or 2 for them. I just saw them Wednesday & they were amazing. Musically think Iggy & the Stooges with a very talented lady singer named Amy Taylor. I've seen hundreds of concerts so I'm fairly jaded at this point but this band blew me away. They would definitely get people woken up for the main course. A band definitely on the way up & to watch especially Amy. She's a force of nature!

Based just on their albums and what I've seen on youtube and tv, I think Amyl and the Sniffers would be great, too. I doubt a stadium venue would impair them much, onstage energy is a good thing. Cameras for the LED towers might have some trouble keeping up with Amy, but everybody needs a good challenge now and again.

I'd been watching out for this U.S. tour of theirs for... maybe 2 years now?, and am disappointed they're not coming south of Baltimore. Saturday I'm in Winston-Salem NC for Paul McCartney, and am not driving to Baltimore MD for the Sniffers show the next night.

To me most punk has always been just noisy junk... but the exceptions can be awesome. Fontaines D.C., Amyl and the Sniffers, and Yard Act are the best of the lot that I'm aware of currently.

Speaking of super-nice, two nights ago after a Cowboy Junkies show I got to talk with band co-founder/bassist Alan Anton. I can see why the four of them have had no band drama over their long history. How would anybody not get along with any of those four Canadians, the Timmins sibs or Alan (who's been buds with Michael Timmins since they were 5 yo)?

I expect a nice line-up for Hyde - the earlier we come, the more money we spend on the festival site.

Awesome! I saw them live in my hometown 3 years ago. After that they've been scheduled again around 6 Times but every single time it was postponed due to Covid.

John can't really sing but he's a very nice Guy. Javier is an awesome guitar Player!

I don think he would have done that in his younger days. I mean has Chris ever opened for them?

The 2017 No Filter support acts were only announced on September 6, 2017. That was just three days before the first show.
