Does anyone have knowledge about airport travel at Oslo and Stockholm airports?
Have there been any difficulties at either place? Is it easy to get to the cities from the airport?

I will be flying into Oslo from the US then most likely flying from Oslo to Stockholm to see the concert.

I would like to spend some time in both areas.

Don't know about Oslo, but for Stockholm I'm planning to go with the Arlanda Express from Arlanda airport to the city. From what I understand and read online and on this board, it's the best and quickest option (not the cheapest one though).

Not much trouble in Oslo, so far.

Don't know about Oslo, but for Stockholm I'm planning to go with the Arlanda Express from Arlanda airport to the city. From what I understand and read online and on this board, it's the best and quickest option (not the cheapest one though).

No problem from with airporttravel from Oslo to Oslo lufthavn (Gardermoen)I have used it myself saturday and today (Munchen-show) Use "Vy" insted of "Flytoget" One minute difference and nearly half the price. I will use "Arlanda express myself for the Stockholm-show. Have done it before and the best way to get to Stockholm and right to the railwaystation that will bring you to the train to Solna where Friends arena is. Used Arlanda express a couple of times and never had problems.

You will be fine. Swedes are the pioneers of cashless commerce.

What Topi said. I've been three times to Stockholm and never set eyes on any Swedish money at all - I have no idea what it looks like!

Arlanda Express is good when it works. When I was returning to the airport after the last Stones show, there was a technical problem and it was withdrawn from service at short notice. So a bunch of us had to jump in a cab instead.

The commuter train is also fine. It's quite a bit cheaper but takes longer as it stops so many times.

I was in Stockholm just last week and there was no Arlanda Express for my journey home, as they were doing track repairs. But the airport bus worked well and cost half the price.

The security queue to get into the airport was long, though. People were advised to go to the airport early for that reason and the advice turned out to be good.

What is the best. An hotel near stadium or downtown ?

I booked Radisson just near the stadium, but after some recommendations I changed to the near the Fridhemsplan, since there is great connection to the Friends Arena.

At Stockholm I have a PDF Lucky Dip but I am not sure if I will go after all since I might go to Berlin instead. I can only make Stockholm the day of show and that is risky.

Anyone knows if I can give the PDF to someone else? Will they want to see ID and credit card? It looks like a simple QR scan to me. Thx.

Hello,
The tickets for this event are not personal, which means that you do not have to have your name on the ticket to be able to use it upon entry. The PDF with a QR code are the tickets and you can give them away.

C'mon schwonek, after you pick up the LDs you're free to do what you want with them. Yes, even give them away. Been done before.

It clearly says "Not valid for entry". It's the exact same as the vouchers for Bern. It's just part of their standard ticketing system. You'll have to pick them up at the LD counter just as for any other show.you can try to sell the Lucky Dip tickets but you can't be certain that it will work! It all depends on local stuff!

Does anyone know if Friends Arena uses metal detectors? I would like to bring in recording equipment but it gets detected in those blasted things.

Whenever I see this thread, flashback 19 years ago to the Stockholm Stadion, Globen, and Cirkus shows for what made up a holy trinity of shows during the Licks tour.
Wish I could travel back in time to July 2003 to relive it all in such a beautiful city, and/or wish they would do a repeat of all that here in July 2022.
Stadiums, arenas, clubs/theaters...what a great concept and great tour it was. Those were the days..........

Last time I took the commuter train from Arlanda to Stockholm central. Fast and easy.

Flygbussarna are reliable.
Traffic depends on the time of day. But this is vacation time in Sweden, so should be fine.
Arlanda Express is the fastest (18 minutes) and most comfortable alternative, but also the most expensive.
Commuter train is the cheapest alternative. Takes 40 minutes to central station.

Stockholm will be the last stop on my mini-tour of six shows.
