Talking about being "recognized" I noticed that a couple people in the front row of Pit A changed to super bright T-shirts, Red and Yellow, just before the show. Not sure if that's their way of getting recognized by the musicians or in videos/pictures after the show (that works well!). I'll add that the gentleman in red stood out quite a bit from the crowd even without that bright t-shirt ;-)

I did a walk around the area of the Hippodrome Longchamp today, to sort out where the stage is, where the entrances are, and how things are organized. The maps and pictures below will explain how it is done.

The first map is the organizer's map of the site. It has the river Seine "under" the site, because they have turned the map 90 degrees left to make it easier to read. So I took the "google map", and rotated it the same way, just to give you the right impressions. That is picture number two below. The last picture, number five, is the regular map, where the Seine is in the west (to the left), the stage is to the south (at the bottom area), and the entrances are at the right (east).

It takes an hour to walk around the venue, I walked slowly, so I guess it is approx 4 km i.e. 2.5 miles.

In the organizers map, map number one, the bridge across the Seine ("Pont de Suresnes") is in the lower left corner. I walked counter-clockwise around, entering across the Pont de Suresnes, then the stage is at the other lower end, i.e. the stage is south of the venue, above the signs "BOULOGNE" and "Route des Tribunes". Then I walked on the other side, i.e. on the top of the organizers map, along the "Rte de Sevres A Neuilly", i.e. east side on the real map. Then I took the two pictures below. Do not get confused about the "Eiffel Tower" in the pictures, it is just a small replica, the real Eiffel Tower is 6 km i.e. 4 miles furter on to the east in Paris.

The hillside as seen on the first picture is the fortress area to the west of Suresnes, the "Forteresse du Mont Valérien", so I have my back towards the real Eiffeltower in the west, and I am facing the west and the fortress.

There is a "P" in the map - parking. I am not so sure about that parking, you would be stuck in traffic I think. It would probably be smarter to walk a bit, and not parking right inside the big circular area enclosed by more or less closed roads. Imagine 100,000 fans flowing out after the show, you will be trapped in your car there for a while. It seems like they plan to close all roads around the area, and they have large entrances on the top of the organizers map, i.e. near the "C" on their map, a bit further along "Rte de Sevres A Neuilly". On the lower side of their map, i.e. facing the Seine, all I saw was some signs saying "VIP" and "Press", from memory.

I’m looking at that picture of the stage taken from outside by BV and I’m thinking that’s as good a view as the view from some of the ticketed seats being sold at other shows for a few hundred Euro!!

The permit is may be 50,000 but we will see tomorrow how many people there are inside the venue at show time. Large fields tend to be oversold, that is my experience.

Wonder what the best M9 station would be, Ranelagh maybe and then go for the "Boulogne" entrance. A bit of a trek, about 30 minutes. Not a problem on the way out but could be to get back home if you have a connecting RER to catch !

Anyone know how big the pit will be in Paris?

Will it be normal size or will it just be enormous like in Hyde Park where the Pit was the size of several football pitches?

Hope there will be more respect for Pit ticket holders than was the case in Hyde Park.

There haven't been Pit Tickets available for Hyde Park. It was a complete different Setup because it was part of a Festival and that was clearly shown on a map. In Paris we will have the usual Stones setup where the Pit size varies by maybe 20% per Show.

Brussels was maybe 50% smaller than amsterdam. Brussels looked like the european 2017/2018 pit and even then a little smaller. Most pits look like the usa 2021 pits but a little smaller. For me its not about how big the pit is but how many tickets are sold vs space. I want some room and most of the time this is very well taken care off.
