The first weather forecast for Munich says 19-22°C, partly cloudy, no rain. Sounds like a very good forecast to me.

it's still two weeks away. And late May/early June is usually quite rainy in Germany

Depending on the weather service
we find from 17° and thunderstorms to 20° and sunny.
No good statements can be made yet. It will probably rain and when the show starts the sun will come out...

Munich was very wet last time they played there Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, but that was fall time. Summer time should be warm and dry, I hope!

In 1982 they played 2 shows (in summer), the first day was very hot, the second day was very wet.

Maybe this is worth a separate post, but I'm just reading about Germany's crazy train promo for (virtually) unlimited train travel for 9 euro per month - June/July/August. Everything's covered except IC, ICE, EC trains, as far as I can tell. So all RE (regional) and local modes - S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, buses are included. This definitely makes life easier traveling to/from the aiport and venues. No need to worry about single or daily cards, Stripe cards. The downside, I assume, might be packed trains and buses.

ah come on, Gelsenkirchen is not that bad of a town. It's a poor town, but has some beautiful areas, even a nice park with a lake, close to the arena.
Yes, the city centre is quite awful, but that's what happens when a city that depended on industrial work and companies did not quite manage the transformation after the coal mines closed. Which is hard to do.
I often visit the arena, as I am a fan of Gelsenkirchen's football club Schalke 04 - great crowd, nice stadium and surroundings.
Public transport to and from the Arena is also not too bad.

If you are in the area for the show and have some time to spend, visit Zeche Zollverein and the Ruhrmuseum located there. Well worth a visit. The Zoo in Gelsenkirchen ("Zoom"), close to the arena, is also pretty nice.
If Mick sticks to his routine of visiting local spots the day before the show, these are the places he might chose.

Right, so the Madrid stage structure leapfrogs to Liverpool. And so on and so forth.
