Many got bloc 421...

I got 421 in Lyon, as did 2 other people I was with. And I saw several LD wristbands up there. Honestly, for me - I didn’t mind though. In that heat, I was glad to have a seat and at least it wasn’t off to the side.
Plus it looked like it was pretty packed in down on the floor and the Pit. Having just come from a very busy couple of days in Paris, not sure I could have dealt with the standing for the 4 or so hours. And - the sound was great up there - I mean really LOUD. If it was even louder down close, I can’t even imagine.

Hi!

Did anyone receive information regarding the Lucky Dip entrance and desk for Paris? Still no news on my side spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

from the paris thread:

About the lucky dips:

Ticket pick-up instructions
You must pick up the ticket in person from the Box Office located at entrance Longchamp (n°1 in the map attached)
Box Office pick-up time starts at 5pm.
Your picture ID (on the name of the order holder), confirmation number, and the credit card used to make the purchase are required for pick-up. You will not be permitted to pick up your ticket without these three (3) items.
Once you have the ticket in hand, you may be escorted directly into the venue. There may not be an opportunity to leave with your ticket before going into the show.
If the organizer suspects any reselling or transfer of this ticket they will be immediately voided, and you will not be entitled to any refund."

As I said in the other thread, some LD buyers still ended up in the pit winking smiley

GA for me, like nearly everyone else. And thanks to that ridiculous long and slow 1 hour+ queue, I was very limited for viewing spots so went off to the left and got one about 5 or 6 rows back, where I caught the odd glimpse of the band through phones, heads and waving arms. But that’s the luck of the draw. I was Pit B in Lyon after a bit of negotiation by my LD double ups partner. I didn’t see him yesterday unfortunately but I’m informed he got Pit A. Clearly has a knack. I think most LDs have been very poor on this tour, perhaps the poorest since they were introduced. It’s nothing like the bonanza of U.K. 2018 when even I pulled 2 pits out of 8

GA single lucky dip for me too, I heard the very good concert, but haven t seen anything. And about the organization how to say… worst one I have ever seen, only one entrance in the middle of the two announced… I could have sold easily my tix between the desk 1 to get my real ticket and the real entrance one hour queeing (again) after… This ruined my experience. Disappointed.

Agree with all of that. Poor venue with poor logistics and very poorly organised. That stupid long single queue for everyone regardless of section was awful too. So slow. It’s not even like security was very rigorous either. I just got s gentle pat dowm and that was it. No metal detectors or anything. People got in with biggish rucksacks too!

They needed to deal with so many people, so yes, security was a joke really.

It was airline security at Hyde Park with a similar sized crowd. But the difference was that Hyde Park opened at noon with people arriving steadily. Yesterday it opened at 5 with a huge number of people waiting to get in all at once.

At how many concerts have you been escorted into the arena? Does it occur at all?

They tried to do it in Lyon though it was easy to slink away if given bad dips. I’m fairly sure they did it at the 3 Paris shows in 2017 because dippers were allowed to enter through their own special entrance near the LD desk without having to join the main queue.

But it’s definitely the exception and not the rule. In my experience and that’s been 15 times.

Exactly, too little time to be thorough. Getting in small amounts of food and spare caps for the water bottle was no problem winking smiley

I got in with a packet of mints. I usually do very easily. I took the cap off my water bottle and hid it in my shoe. The one good thing was plenty of places to refill with water.

I scored Pit A tickets in Paris. The people behind me as well & when I arrived I saw another couple at the beginning of the queue that got pit tickets. So it looked like the success rate was much higher than in Brussels, where almost everybody seemed to have restricted view. Fantastic feeling to open the envelope and see you've won the lottery smiling smiley

My feeling was both Brussels and Paris the had 20% Pit tickets. There have been many in Brussels as well. In Milan they gave out way more pits, at least in the First 20 minutes where it was over 50%

Does it matter what time you pick up your LD seats considering what seats you get (faster the pick, better the seat) or are the seats decided beforehand?

You should ask Topi or Slewan the most experienced ones on IORR on Lucky Dip

Still one pair of LDs for Stockholm left at face value. Email me @ wickerman767@aim.com . FYI, I will be there to collect and hand over the tickets.

Got Pit A for my LDs at Paris on Saturday. Quite probably the best Pit view I have ever had. Loads of space, no pushing and a great performance.

I don't think it really matters what time you pick up the LDs.

I've had pits out of LDs both when I picked them up early and when I picked them up at 9 PM!

There have been exceptions, though, I think in Berlin 2018 they gave out pretty much only pits early on, if I remember correctly. I didn't go, but I remember reading this.

Nordkurve Block 39 in Gelsenkirchen. A bit unlucky. Great sound though. Picked up at 6.15 or so, no queue

Yep, that was said back then by people (don't know if it was true). That was also the reason why in Stuttgart (the next German show of the tour) people almost mudered each other at the Lucky Dip counter since everyone was trying to get to the front when the counter opened. Then a few of the first ones really got pit which made the situation even worse. Just when some people got GA or GC and it seemed more random, people were relaxing more.

strange things happened at the LD counter. First, the opened it out of the blue around 2:20 p.m. (official opening time was 5 p.m.)
Second: At the beginning nearly everybody got block 41
Third: At some point in the afternoon new envelopes were added – and suddenly people got better tickets (pits, golden circle) (later I found out that some tickets were printed in the morning, others (the new ones) after 4 p.m.)
Fourth: some people mangaged to give their tickets back and were allowed to try again

Which shows that this LD system is inherently unfair/a gamble/random/whatever you do is wrong. Why can't it be everywhere the same? Why do annoying people, get better tickets than the ones who just accept what they got? Then again, you get what you pay for, an experience that can be awesome or madly frustrating. At first I was annoyed that I didn't get a LD ticket. Now I'm kinda glad.

That's how the world works unfortunately. As a rather introverted person that's a fight everyday.

Yeah. And that sucks. It should really be luck of the draw. No exchanges. I mean, these people pay dirt money and then go ballistic when they get crap seats.
