60 € is not a lot of money. It's by far the cheapest you could spend and end up with the most expensive ones which cost almost 10 times as much. Obviously, ideally you should get the ticket in time, but the rain situation most likely screwed everything up. There was even talks of the possibility that the show wouldn't happen due to weather. It was not the normal situation.

It’s a lot of money if you book flights and hotels to be at a show and get in well after it starts. Not to mention the stress, and apparent lack of action or apology from the venue. I’d be grouchy as hell.

For sure. But attending concerts for which you have to fly to and book a hotel is on you. That's not the responsibility of the promoter.

So they don't mind having a reputation of giving the audience a poor experience, as the flight & hotel is 'on them'? What does that have to do with it?

Nothing. That's why the argument, it's a lot of money if you book flights and hotels, is ridiculous. It has nothing to do with the gamble you took on buying a, compared to what you get and what others paid, dirt cheap ticket.

What the devil are you talking about? You're not 'gambling' that you'll miss part of the show due to ineptitude as part of the arrangement. People buying LD's are willing to gamble poor seats, that's built in. Not missing the show or being treated shabbily.

You sound vaguely annoyed that people doing the LD route are being economical and sometimes get rewarded. You like anyone else can go that route.

But poor execution at this stage of the game, after doing LD's for a decade isn't acceptable.

Read the @#$%& post and you see what I'm talking about. I never said you gamble on missing part of the show. You gamble to get great seats, at a very reduced price. You're not buying a VIP service. Things went bad in Munich, for whatever reasons, with the rain delay being one of them. Shit happens. 2bad and better luck next time, when a different company handles the local distribution of the tickets.

One day til Liverpool and we've still absolutely no idea where we're supposed to pick up our lucky dips

Having never had them before, is it just a case of walking around the stadium looking out for a special sign or will it be the box office ?

Any tips appreciated

My 2 cents on the Munich LD organisation and chaos:

We started early at 11am in Stuttgart with a pair of LD vouchers in our hands, arrived at about 2:30pm at the Olympic Stadium parking lot and were at 3pm standing under the beautiful roof in line for our LD tickets.

When the world ended around us with heavy winds, lightning, and pouring rain, we got the word that the gates would open one hour later, at about 6pm.

At that time, I wasn't worried at all, but when at 5pm the ticket counters were yet closed, I asked myself why would that be?

One day before the show, there werde still hundreds and hundreds of tickets available online, so I thought the local promotor would have an interest to open the counters early to sell as many tickets as possible at the venue. But no, they did not open the counters, let alone the LD counter. Why would that be?

The only reasonable answers I had: 1.) Total misorganisation or 2.) the real danger of cancellation

I still do not understand why the local guys did not open the LD counter earlier - everyone could have been in in time and enjoy the entire show. I was perhaps the tenth in line for the LD tickets at 6:30 and I made it in to the pit just about the time when Reef started, but I felt sorry for all the folks that were still standing in line.....

Despite the bad weather conditions, it is the local promotor to blame for not opening the LD counter earlier and for the slow job they were providing. This was a disgrace and a shame, and as an (almost) local guy I felt embarrassed for the poor service.

That said: I ordered and paid 2 tickets for the Rival Sons in Karlsruhe in 10 days from now - and ticketmaster.de still hasn't issued my tickets and won't reply to my emails. Something is wrong in my country nowadays, this is so below standard that I am without words.

I just hope that the remaining concert season will have more pleasant experiences than German organisation nowadays.

On to Hyde Park!

In Munich it was a dedicated window at the box office. I'm sure it will be similar in Liverpool. Haven't you gotten any instructions??

Yes. There was talks about cancellation. The security in front of us told us that, but also said to not mention that he said it. ;-) Take that as you may, but the weather did screw things up (of course you could say, they should have been better prepared, as the weather wasn't a surprise and question why they apparently waited until doors to open the box office, maybe they didn't want to give out tickets and then hassle with taking them back... but, well... they weren't better prepared and it went the way it went.)

They opened another window but that only happened after 8 PM. Way too late.

They also closed it when the concert started, despite there still being a long queue. Luckily, the people in the original queue were relaxed about letting people from the closed counter line slot in.

Yes, saw that. But then the second window (on the right) was reopened. That's where I picked up my two envelopes. It was so late in the game (two songs in) they didn't ID me or anything, I just gave them my order numbers.

I don't why you feel the need to be an apologist for the poor execution, but I guess you started and are just doubling down. Anyway, it shouldn't go down like it did...had nothing to do with weather, gimme a break. And as for VIP service, no one said anything about VIP service.

"I bought a ticket, gimme the ticket before the show starts." Perhaps wherever your from, that's VIP service? Doesn't sound like VIP. Stop apologizing.

Mucky Dips....Sucky Dips...Yucky Dips...Lumpy Dips...certainly not many issued in Munich could be classified as Lucky Dips, but I suppose there were a few lucky fans who didn't miss any songs?
Hopefully Munich was just an anomaly, and other venues will get it sorted properly!

Best of LUCK to those with Lucky Dips to the upcoming show in Liverpool, and also to those who have Lucky Dips for all the other shows. thumbs up

Delay due to rain was a/the issue.

Seems like people have been less successful drawing PIT in 2021 and 2022 than in the past. Is that anyone else's view, too?

Hiya Kurt, it was brilliant. I still haven’t eaten since. It was all very good corporate hospitality standard stuff and very varied too. My 1st Stones show since I did Chicago 1 with yourself 3 years ago. We got seats with cushions too! Initial disappointment, turned to delight. Very friendly people all around me in the seats too. I was reticent about seeing them without Charlie but I still enjoyed last night a lot.

I should add that for those of us in Liverpool with spare dips. They were very hard to sell and most sold at a loss, if at all. There are unconfirmed stories that tickets were given away to fill the place up. One of the pits is reported to have had a few unpleasant drunks in it, so glad to have avoided that.

BOOM!

Turned up at the collection window to a fairly small queue at about 6pm ish, and shuffled nervously to the front

There were four of us, with two pairs of dips and when we got to the counter i said to the woman behind 'can you do four together?' cheekily, and 'please make them good ones'

She took our ID and handed us two envelopes. We were about to walk away with them when she said 'why don't you open them?'

So, i opened my two first and saw the words Diamond Pit B and in all honesty it must've took a few seconds to register before i broke out into a beaming smile

Then my friend opened her envelope ... Diamond Pit A

We couldn't believe it and had a big group hg right there and then

I don't now who the lovely woman behind the counter was, but i'm absolutely sure she knew they were pit tickets and she clearly got a kick from seeing our reaction to them

Thank you sweetheart x

I am selling my LD pair for Bern show, posted also in Ticket Trader with all the details, but do to show getting very close also here to speed things up. Bern still has great tickets to buy at face value. Just looked couple of days ago and both PITs were available. Lot of people here on the forum said that if this is the case, than lot of LDs can turn into PIT tickets, cause they didn't sold them in regular sale. Just a thoughtsmiling smiley.
Also will cancel my room 25 min walk from the venue. This is a small town with lot of accommodation booked already, so if you need that also email me and I will share you the hotel link, maybe the room will be available after my cancellation.

Which all adds further credence to the view that the dishing out of pits wasn’t random - it was actively interfered with by the box office staff. Good for you nonetheless thumbs up
