Not on stage but after one of their press conferences back at the hotel-room Mick cutted a hole on Ronnie's Hawaiian shirt, that pissed Charlie off and Keith had to hold Charlie back from hitting Mick.

This is unsettling. Jerry Hall has said he`s not an evil guy.

It`s makes me associate stuff far from things like this. There was a time when bands thought the road further for rock and roll was to get more "advanced". Once the psychedelia of the second part of the 60s was over, some bands took to classical music, playing faster, technically cleverer, and ever more live gear.

I have difficulties in seeing "banana incidents" in such a setting. Who would think you`d become "the greatest rock and roll band in the world" by such modest ambitions when it comes to song structure, plus the lack of headiness of it all.

Mick seems to be a bully, but maybe Ronnie deserved all the harassing.

I've seen Mick hit Ronnie with a rubber bat, way back when in Las Vegas.
Ronnie put up with it, but I don't think he liked it much. They acted it out almost
looking like two of the Three Stooges.

Of all the things Mick has been accused of doing or even unquestionably did during his sixty years in the business, teasing Ronnie Wood for the sake of "show" must rank as the most heinous.

That must be lost chapter in Ronnie's book no one is talking about. "Chapter XX: Putting Up With Mick's Harassment - Why I Do It".

The Rolling Stones never called themselves that.

To my knowledge, at least. So bananas or whatever is just whatever. No different, really, than Metallica dumping goldfish on The Cult.

Somebody once asked Ronnie who, between Mick and Keith, Woody would call if he were in big trouble? The answer: Mick.

There's really nothing to talk about. Mick and Keith both used Ron as their "clown". Ron never seemed to protest against it and always looked like having fun. Slash in his book told a story when he witnessed the Stones working in the studio and how Keith harassed Ronnie dusing the session. When he asked what's going on, he was told it's okay, way of interraction.

outa that thread:

Wood says he enjoys the whole thing. “I think Mick’s been dying to get his hands on another guitarist,” he noted with an air of comic confidentiality.

I know exactly what that "air of comic confidentiality" looks like. great expression!

This is a silly thread. I always have enjoyed the stage antics and considered them to be male bonding signs of affection

i really think thats kinda what this thread was originaly intended to be about

stage antics

but some people seem to think others are accusing mick of being a bully and/or creating some kind of "toxic" workplace and abusing/harassing poor little ronnie without his consent

i don't think this is what is going on here

it's just stage antics i'm sure ronnie's in on the joke

isn't that also a way of keeping things very British. Like "we don't take ourselves too seriously (after all it's only R&R) so we inject a bit of vaudeville into our live act".

it might help if the title was changed to

mick and ronnie's stage antics

or somethong like that

then this could turn into a fun thread about that instead of a mess of people who are rightfully confused

Quoted for truth.

Ronnie was a clown onstage. The only other bandmember Mick could really interact with. And back in those days there weren't any inflatable dogs or Honky Tonk Women on stage. Or a Lisa Fisher to flirt with.

Harassing... >grinning smiley<
