Does Jagger say "tout le long de la ligne" (all down the line in french) during the second verse?

Saw ya on TV this morning discussing Marilyn.

I'm just floating on the japanesey riff leading out of Crazy Mama. That whole song is just so right on this recording, but the way Keef and Ronnie's guitars sparkle around Billy P's synth is just sublime.

It's just a litte more electro and ragged than on BnB.

Don't ya love it?

The Stones were peaking all over this release. They have had other peaks, but if El Mo isn’t the epitome of rock n roll, I don’t know what is.

We need like a TU type key for IORR site. Couldn't agree more with your statement "If this isn't the epitome of rock'n roll I don't know what is". !!!

PS I do think there are overdubs on this set.

There are overdubs. Check out Worried Life Blues. Likely intended for LYL.

How do you know there are overdubs on WLB?

This release may be the greatest (live) release they've ever done.

This thread may be the greatest thread ever.

Forget sales. It's about the moment. 1977 and 2022.

Was LOVE YOU LIVE really more importantly about the 1975-76 tour? Sure seems like it. A type of 'this must be from this tour because we couldn't do the last one'.

Yet they threw in what is Side 3.

They obviously weren't thinking down the road. As a band, absolutely. Legally, absolutely.

Here we are.

Brilliant. Brilliant live album of a brilliant performance at the most trying of times for The Rolling Stones.

How do you know there are overdubs on WLB?

Because there is a second Ronnie slide guitar, and three guitars playing simultaneously at times.

As great as it is, it’s pale by comparison to the last couple of minutes of the INSANE JJF.

I love it. Ronnie plays great and they’re on fire. It’s the best live they have released with Wood

I must say I prefer the Love you live version of It's Only Rock N roll over the "club" show.
Also I wish the songs sounded like side 2 of Love you Live...
Overall, great show.
It goes to show that a full live show is better than a spliced together live album...at least for the purists.
But to say this is better than Get Yer Ya Yas out is a stretch.

"It Happened Here", I think. With A. J. Benza? On Reel(s)?

Nice to put a face with the name.

In a way, This show is kindd of like the Stones version of The Last Waltz. It marks the end of an Era, and it's about being in the moment and celebrating.

I wonder what Keef thought when he got off the stage and handed his guitar to his roadie : "blimey! Could it really be the last time before a loong while?"

I think Ron and Keef gave it all "just in case".

Or Brussels or LA Friday or Atlantic City 1989 or Ladies and Gentlemen ,performance not sound wise.

Finally listening to All Down The Line - wow. Considering how they were in 1975-76 it's quite astounding. Holy crap, what a fantastic live album!!!!

Has there been a discussion about where the acoustic guitar that Mick is credited with playing actually shows up during the show?

It's just wrong credits (as usual). He plays electric guitar on Crazy Mama.

Billy Preston is not credited on vocals either...

from a friend of mine who was at this particular show - "I hear some people complaining that the mix/production don't capture the "intimacy" of the event a la Love You Live. But understand, being there, it was LOUD, they sounded BIG and this current release brings me right back into that room. I LOVE the production on this record because it's truly accurate to what we felt and heard."

Rob Bowman too. He said the record sounds exactly as he remembers it.

Great gig; great sound; great cd.
The line-up is historical. Charlie Watts on drums; Bill Wyman on bass; Ian Steward on piano. The outcome is perfect. That’s pure Rolling Stones. The first time I attended a gig of the Rolling Stones was in 1976. The line-up was the same. It was terrific.
It has been said and written: “one’s feet were with Charlie Watts and one’s pulse with Bill Wyman.”
By the way, once again, why there is no picture of Bill Wyman neither on the booklet nor on the cover of the cd? Bill Wyman is a founder member and a prodigious bass player.

Rob Bowman was at the first night’s show, this is mostly from the second night. Where were his comments? I’d be interested to read more of his recollections.

He said so on that panel discussion at the ElMo.
Or was it somebody else who said it..?
Anyway, one of them did.

I was at the ElMo for the panel discussion. Rob was there for the first night, couldn’t get in the second night. Must have been one of the others who made the comment. Must have sucked to have been at the first, inferior, show! grinning smiley

I think that’s right! I remember thinking it wasn’t a heck of a lot of shows for someone who worked with them and wrote a book about them. He’ll be at Hyde Park, folks in the Pits should maybe keep an eye out for him. smiling smiley
