Have they ever touched up any live release? Obviously not the big label live releases.

Nico's site shows they always overdubbed the live tapes from the tour they had just finished : 1969? Overdubbed. 1972? Overdubbed.

Mocambo? Overdubbed on March 6-8 1977.

But as early as 1966, they did something more clever, when they simply overdubbed an audience instead!

Supposedly, that was the norm of the time. One track for the audience, even though they only had two tracks to work with smiling smiley

eg Crackin up. I hear that another guitar was added but I also think the Mick maybe recorded some new vocals.

Original recording:

Duration: 5:00 minutes (and his track is even faster!)
LYL time: 3:50 minutes

So they cut 1:10 minute

Ronnie added at least two guitars to his live take smiling smiley

Tho' I doubt it was a norm to use a 100% studio recording as the backingtrack, apart from on TV appearances

Yeah, those two songs were unnecessary. Good tracks on compilations, without the audience noise, but they should never have been included on GLIYWI.

Instead of performing "Sticky Fingers Live at the Fonda", they should just have just released the studio album with an audience track.

Think of the time and effort they wasted!

I got that backwards! Not sure why.

ok so what do we want the cover art to look like

something simple that incorporates the images from the show

or something that's maybe a little more imaginative like a take on warhol's cover for love you live

normally i wouldn't really care but this isn't just any release and i would like it to sound good and look good too if possible

Do we think this is a 45th anniversary Love You Live super deluxe edition? Maybe remixed with bonus tracks, and the Elmocambo show(s) as bonus discs? That would make for an incredible package!

Absolutely. This should not be buried in a deluxe set.

Ken Regan's pictures from both nights are incredible so let's use them.

No doubt Mocambo is the main dish. If accompany with extra bonus CD, it should be Keith & Stu's Toronto sessions in complete and well restored.
Both are happened in same month, and this package can light up their ups & downs at that time.

No solo project in a Rolling Stones album.

No solo project in a Rolling Stones album.

This and it would feel strange to put in the same package a concert where the band is bouncy and energic with a gloomy solo recording of a man allegedly at his lowest.

Both are very valied points. I don't think anything would fit together with El Mocambo audio. The closest one could get is Knebworth 1976 DVD/blueray, mainly because of the setlist, but even that wouldn't be really right. Knebworth shows them very tired tho' speeded up by chemicals, very different from Toronto 1977. Not that would mind a Knebworth DVD myself, but I'm not expecting it.

Does anyone have the set list from both shows? I went to setlist.fm to view the songs. There was some question to its accuracy as no one who was at the El Macombo that night have yet to confirm it.
