Saw them open for the Stones in Wembley in 1995.

Awesome. But too bad about the over loaded sound. I can imagine it was solid though.

What a terrible band.

A once great band, but a terrible cover.

How can it be a terrible cover? Pretty close to the original - except for the voice. It´s not three japanese girls with a german accent and a mandolin.

The singer sounds like Rod Stewart, otherwise it's an astute cover. Nothing to complain about. Except the poor smartphone recording quality...

A little pitchy but a pretty good version. Didn't love the guitar intro.

I imagine being there and hearing that wall of sound would have been infinitely better than hearing the 'too loud' audio mix we get with this.

Thumbs up.

Played Moonage Daydream the next night instead:

They may not be the best covers of those songs, having said that they are hard songs to beat the originals. Just fun to see good songs played, I don't put that much stock into it.

Weak.

Could have been tighter but far from bad and it's just good to hear Rocks Off any time.

I would actually prefer that to a second rate garage band fronted by 2 posers who only get attention every time they butcher a Stones song.

I do kinda dig the Jimmy Page era though I wonder if he would have been better off choosing Great White or even Kingdom Come to back him up.

Simply my opinion. A horrible cover choice for a cover, certain songs shouldn’t be covered and this is one of them.

Again, all my opinion.

This is not the Black Crowes. This is the Robinson brothers with a lame, hired LA session band playing covers.

It is really sad, I loved the crows back in the days

Steve Gorman was key to their sound.
But still a huge Rich Robinson fan.

Me too. I thought they were a good choice for a support act but they were disappointing.

(...) who use too much distortion on their amps or pedals.
I still like the Robinsons as the core to the Crowes sound, but the original song had a terrific guitar sound, overdriven, but not distorted. The clip here sounds like 80ies hair metal guitar (´cept for the intro!). Poison-style, not my cup of tea.
Chris sounds good to me, it´s his version of the song.

cheers, Fillmore

What were they even playing? Awful sound. Not by the band, but how they were recorded.

What if what if would have happened to this band if Rich had followed Gorman's advice in the early days of the band. Bro pisses you off? Punch him it'll put some common sense into him!

An advice fully endorsed by Noel Gallagher from Manchester...
