That's kind of a rolling funk. Don't think their current rhythm section could handle it.

It'd become a chuck fest given the prominence of the piano. Their rythm section can handle it alright but it's also a real screamer. I doubt if Nick can still handle that type of vocal

why not cut all the crap and just have them do the whole (british version of) between the buttons onstage

I don’t think anyone in the audience would know it. Those who bought Between the Buttons in ‘67 are too old, unable, or disinterested to attend Rolling Stones concerts in the 00’s and those part of a younger demographic, only know the really well-known songs. There’s a reason why their set-lists barely change. The only time you’ll witness a Between the Buttons song as a performance - other than Connection - is at a theatre-sized venue, like in ‘02, when they dug-out She Smiled Sweetly... once.

She smiled sweetly, All sold out or Miss Amanda Jones would get my vote ahead of My Obsession. Was great they played Connection on the last run.

I liked it better when Keith did Connection on his '88 solo tour. They've waited too long to pull off some of those songs.

"Complicated" is actually a little gem as a song. Young Keith was damn great in coming up with fresh, melodic ideas.

This thread made me realize that I haven't played BETWEEN THE BUTTONS for ages. Time to change that tonight!
