I wonder what happened to the two tracks Mick recorded with Joe Walsh and also Ringo in 2013...

From www.nzentgraf.de:

130307A 7th March: JOE WALSH. Los Angeles, Capitol Studios. Producer: Don Was. Incl.
- Over My Head (MJ/Joe Walsh/Bill Withers/Keb' Mo'/Tal Wilkenfeld) -unverified
- unverified Howlin' Wolf-cover (Chester Burnett?)
Line-up: MJ (voc, harm)/Joe Walsh (gtr, voc)/Tal Wilkenfeld (bass)/Ringo Starr
(dr)/Jim Keltner (dr)/Keb' Mo' (voc)/Mike Finnigan (voc; maybe keyb)

That's a hell of a line-up.

Thanks for posting spikenyc!

Great music!

Waddy on 2nd guitar........a white Les Paul that I believe I have seen him talking about that....if the same one - plays loud. Something about how it was made.

Leland Sklar jamming out on Bass. I kept waiting on him to get his hand stuck in that beard smiling smiley

Ringo sounding good.......he must be using black boot polish #2 on the hair and beard smiling smiley

Joe.......being Joe. Love his playing! Nice to see him on a Strat!

All Star lineup for sure!

My only knock is with the camera guy. I could have used more time of seeing Joe and Waddy playing instead of seeing Leland & Ringo.

I honestly wasn't sure how I'd feel about this but by 5 minutes in you're hooked and its @#$%& epic. Could watch them do this for an hour.

Joe Walsh was always a good guitar player but since he sobered up he's unreal good. When I saw the Eagles on the "History of" tour, Joe totally stole the show. Glad I went because there weren't too many shows left after that with Glen Frey. The current Eagles thing is good but I couldn't justify spending hundreds of dollars to see it.

I wished I'd seen that tour. I ended up seeing Joe open for Tom Petty (on HIS last tour) which was almost as good, but sad I missed the Eagles. None of us knew that Glenn had such little time left.

Reading the comments on Youtube, lots of love for Ringo on this.
Well if Steve jordan isnt available for the next Stones tour, how about Ringo?
Could you imagine if that happened?
Playing drums for the two greatest rock bands ever?
Doubt it would happen but its a nice thought.

Watching the James Taylor / Carol King special ‘Just Call Out My Name’ recently, I noticed Russ Kunkel’s drumming. His style and light touch really reminded me of Charlie. I enjoyed this one too.

Why does Ringo never play drums without another drummer.

I used to think it was because he couldn't anymore. I know that thats not the case, but it really is insane that I believe since the Beatles split I've never seen him play as the sole drummer. He plays on John Lennon's first solo album as the sole drummer, and an excellent job he does, but right after that at Concert For Bangladesh I have ALWAYS seen him with a second drummer. Its pretty nuts. I don't know the reason for it. I could understand him singing so he needs backup, but even when he's not singing like this its not just him. And its not even a recent development, its been since he's like 35. Curious to know the reason and I thought it immediately when I saw this video lol.

I dont think he does it intentionally.
Think its the personnel that is available at the time?
Ringo seems very generous and who wouldnt want to get the chance to play with a Beatle?
Also, I think playing with another drummer is actually more difficult then playing solo.

Maybe because it adds a rhythmical thing that can't be achieved with only one drummer.
Allman Brothers Band comes to mind. Kinda like two guitars and "the ancient art of weaving" ...

Very cool. The old phartz showin' the youngin's how its done. The original Funk #49 is part of my permanent song mix. Such a groove.

Sounds good to me and I love some of Joe Walsh’s albums such as The James Gang- Barnstorm-So What and Confessor with a cool guitar intro
