I was not crazy about Power of the Dog (but know people who really like it), but I agree on whoever added Summer of Soul which is fantastic.
I have not been in a movie theater in 2 years now, but luckily there is a lot of quality stuff on the streaming services.
On Netflix of late, I'll add Leo's Don't Look Up, which I loved, and a series we just watched is Stay Close. Moves very quickly - you really need to pay attention - but it's excellent.

Power of the Dog is good ....Subtle
Moves slow like kids plotting ...
Similar to what goes down in the film Animal Kingdom 2010 ....

I think Cumberbatch will win best actor this year at the Academy Awards,
with competition from Denzel.

Power of the Dog was an interesting flick.

I liked "Pig" starring Nicholas Cage. His co-star Alex Wolff was excellent in it.

I guess it's an animal theme for 2021.

Yes, great soundtrack...my friend and I argued about whether the songs were by the original artists, because sometimes in the context of the film, the sound was a little ambiguous. They were, with the exception of two cuts that had guest musicians featured on the song. PT Anderson chose a truncated method of including the soundtrack in the credits, with incomplete listings.

one more to add to my top five from before

'drive my car'

a 3 hour japanese movie about the understated relationship between a theatre actor / director and his young taciturn driver won't be for everyone

especially when the latter character doesn't even turn up until an hour in

frankly, i'm usually deeply wary of anything that clocks in at more than a 100 minutes

but this is a beautiful film - elegantly expanded from a haruki murikami short story

it has a lot to say about grief and regret - but without ever being maudlin

(odd detail - there's a character who speaks entirely in korean sign language - and watching her is like watching someone dance)
