Most famous as Woodstock’s impresario, he also had a hand in Altamint:

RIP, Mister Lang. You, with others, brought folks together for a moment in time when much seemed so possible. I can still envision Richie Havens at the start of the film, his sandal beating out the time and Jimi bringing it to a close.

Not that he'll be remembered for this last Woodstock 50th debacle but hilarious that that whole saga ends up being the last thing he did. Wonderfully optimistic, and hey, he put on what you could say was the best rock festival of all time. A model for everything that came after and that weekend is an incredible legacy. They did a great job with the film and the album creating the idea of 3 days of peace, love and music. And then all the money 50 years later they could reap from it! But an undeniable landmark for rock music that we all love. Have to give him credit for what he was able to pull off, all not even being 30 yet. RIP Mike, you provided me quite a few laughs several years ago with the Woodstock 50 thing. He sounded so undeniably Mike Lang.

RIP to the man.
But I won’t miss the bullshit he spewed.
Woodstock was a crisis averted.
Woodstock 99 was the result of this goons thinking, dopey hippy.

A great example of someone doing something because they didn't know any better. They surely never expected as many people to attend. A marvelous one time lineup even without the Beatles or Stones. Hendrix was basically the headliner. Oh sure, you can note the negatives things, but that's pushed aside in time. Michael Lang brought us Woodstock. That's enough for one man's legacy.

Thanks for posting this notice. I wouldn’t have known otherwise.

My condolences to his family and friends.
