He was good friend with Rod and Ronnie.
I loved his guitar playing.

In the late 90s, he also played in Bernie Taupin's band Farm Dogs. They put out an album of acoustic music in the folk tradition (Last Stand in Open Country) and a folk-rock album (Immigrant Sons) with some pretty great songwriting.

He made most of his latter-day bread playing for French rocker Johnny Halliday. Filling large arenas and stadiums must have done his bank account some good.

Funny how none of the eulogies mention that... Johhny Halliday is like a musical clap : you keep mum about it. grinning smiley
