Remember the Springsteen live
FIVE album set from late Eighties .....

Every record shop stocked up
with hundreds of copies but then
year after year it was always piled HIGH in the bargain bins ....

Oh yeah, I got that one too, but to this day never made it to actually listen to the whole thing ... LOL

I bought a used pristine copy (previous owner never played it by the looks) several years ago for $8.

I hope to eventually listen to it.

Some people still do crazy things like that. And even crazier... Finnish hard rock band Lordi - best or only known for winning European Song Contest back in 2006 - released this year a new album set that includes seven - yes: 7 - brandnew studio albums, each even named differently. Their previous album was released in 2020, so the dudes seemingly have used their corona lockdown pretty efficiently.

I recall hearing that the reason Wings Over America ended up being three discs was that some Capitol execs wandered down to check out what was going on at the Capitol Records Swap Meet--a regular event that took place in the company parking lot--and found out that one of the vendors was selling a two-disc live bootleg album of the just-completed '76 Wings tour. So to beat the boots, they made it a three-record album.

That would be a double, triple album.

I'd assumed it was 3 LPs because that's how many were required to include all 30 songs that were performed at every show on the tour. I never owned the bootleg, but I don't see how they could have squeezed the entire show onto 2 LPs.

Thing Fish by Frank Zappa - possibly the least listened-to triple album of all times ...
