but i understand what you mean

i like a lot of depp's films but the man himself is a bit of a scumbag

maybe keith kinda noticed that or was witness to that side of him and decided he had enough of people like him and decided to cut ties

still i'd love to see the footage he shot

My 2 cents on this and it also goes for Mick as well as Keith is that the folks that are allowed inside there orbit have a short shelf life . Once that's expired that's it . We all myself included like to look for a deeper meaning or some symbolism of what is or isn't and it's just a plain old sell by date just like on a carton of milk . I am not trying to harsh , I just call them as I see them . Hollywood , the recording industry , and Television are not morally principled . If the "industry " smells a $ (just like sharks ) the feeding frenzy takes place and projects get financed . Same as in professional sports , Athletes that don't produce are held to different set of rules than superstar athletes that pack fannies in seats and sell merchandise , who wiggle out of all kinds of stuff that lesser athletes get tossed out with the rubbish .

It's been discussed here and on other RS message boards through the years. I can't rememeber the source but someone quoted Keith saying that.
