Still disappointed in the bonus CD of the "Bright Lights Big City" sessions that came with the deluxe GRRR. You could hear the needle drop on the songs, I had better quality versions from bootlegs.

So glad that someone else is interested in this very early stuff. Great to hear this song again in great quality, it's always been a favourite since I bought the original boot so many years ago. I've enjoyed going through this guy's other remixes, especially the other Stones songs.

We need more of this, not endless 2021 concert recordings

Hi Elmo,

i bought the bootleg with the ibc-songs in the early 80ies,
i was fascinated from these songs, i loved "Diddley Daddy" and
"Roadrunner", and now 40 years later i hear a song from the ibc-sessions
("Honey what's wrong") in stereo.

Thanks to youtube there will be always new (old) stuff,
i watch every day on youtube for something i didn't hear or see until now.

Do the tapes not exist? They may only have what we have, bootleg vinyl.

No idea where the original tapes are but the bootleg recordings I found online sound just as good without any needle drop sound.

Hi Thomas

I bought Bright Lights, Beautiful Delilah and the Cops & Robbers EP at the same time, probably mid 70s. I have always loved this early stuff along with the Chess Sessions album.

If only we could unearth the missing Radio 1 performances and the Gomelsky tapes. I wanna hear Brian and Mick doing Pretty Thing before I go....

I always loved those early tracks and still wonder how close the version of "I Wanna Be Loved" sounded, compared to the single b-side of "Come On". I think all instruments and vocals were recorded in one way, like taping a live track. Imo the best sound quality, of course in mono, was on the CD "The Rolling Stones – Bright Lights – Big City (20th Anniversary Edition)"

Hi Elmo,

yes, i bought this lp "bright lights", mentioned by BlueTurns2Grey,
it was a real treasure to me to have this lp, knowing i would be
one of a few people to listen to these songs.

it was a wonderful time to search for bootlegs, every find was worth a million dollars to me.

yes, there are a few songs we still like to be found,
as we are growing old with the stones too, i was 16 when i became a fan in 1977,
now i am 60, and thanks to youtube we will be surprised by so many things that
we wished in earlier times to see or to listen to.

I don't know what new technology they found, but making Bill's bass more prominent really gives this a punch. Like they did for the BBC tapes. No wonder they sounded so much better live in the beginning.
