The Stones chemistry and sound doesn't usually lend itself to covers. Dylan has some fantastic covers, and it probably very wealthy just from that. I would say there are very, very few Stones covers that are successful. Otis - Satisfaction. Devo, same song, because they did such a different version. It's akin to James Brown, who also doesn't have a lot of memorable covers.
It would be interesting to see how much royalties for covers between Jagger/Richards, Lennon/McCartney, and Dylan. Wilson Pickett's 'Hey Jude' was sublime. Henrix' 'All Along the Watchtower' was magnificent. I can't really think of a Stones song that surpasses, or equals the original. Show me where I'm wrong.

Another I forgot, Joan Osborne doing Hip Shake, so a cover of a cover. If someone can post the Youtube vid of her doing it live in the radio station, an awesome video!

Awful cover version of Moonlight Mile by Lucinda Williams, sounds flat, dull and like she is trying to sing with a boiled sweet in her mouth.
Now Carla O with Mick T and Winter is amazing and almost S good as the original, almost.
