Gene aside (awesome clip), kinda describes my Desert Trip experience, the camping package was well worth it

The Beatles would have been the headliners but if they both played the crowd would have been just as pumped to see the Stones.
The only act to maybe be the headliner over the Beatles might have been Dylan.

I've once read that the Stones had been asked to play Woodstock but weren't allowed to enter the States because of legal proceedings due to drug abuse in England ... don't know if that's really true.

Maybe if it was Dylan and The original Band that would sell big time !

I think it would have more to do with who was the most legendary artist and act. Everyone including the Beatles knew that Dylan was the man. The crowd was a bunch of hippies which would also favor Dylan.

No argument there as I agree on the artistic and creative genius of all things Dylan . I just wonder about his drawing power , you could even say at his peak as well .

With 400,000 in attendance and cars parked for miles, did the festival really need a(nother) big draw?

We know how the Stones opened their 69 US tour shows, but what would have been a perfect Beatles opener?
