In England a few hundred years ago punishment for minor crimes was severe - ie. Deported to Australia for stealing a loaf of bread.
Hung, drawn and quartered was usually reserved for heresy, treason or witchcraft.
Mick probably used it because it's England's most notorious punishment assimilated into everyday usage - ie. Oh, I'm late home from the pub, the wife is going to hang, draw and quarter me.
Hanging was as you expect, but not 'til death, then drawn which meant having your stomach opened with a sword, drawn from your solar plexus down to your groin, so your inardds fell out, then quartered, pull apart by a horse on each limb, or all four limbs chopped off. (all while still alive - harsh)
What Mick means is if you are going to be punished like that, it may as well be for a stealing a sheep rather than something smaller, like a lamb.

Actually... as bad as that is, Mick could've said 'cow as well as veal', it really could kinda made sense more so in the 2020-2021... uh, differences in how the older are not necessarily lambs (young sheep) but, well... a kind of equivalent to people on horseback in England kind of not lamb but... chasing after something... while acting like sheep? Kinda "Once upon a time you were my baby chicken..." trip.
It's an old English expression. Mick uses clichés a lot.

Walking clothes line...he's as thin as a clothes line, presumably from drug use, or it could also be a reference to being strung out from drugs, as a clothes line is strung up.

In 1986 I was studying English at university. We had a lecturer from Cambridge, very 'English' from head to toe and always open to argue about who's better Beatles or Stones. He was into the Beatles.

What I've always been wondering about is where idea for paint it black came from. They were too young to witness it themselves but Mick found exact words to describe that dark and deep depression you feel after losing someone really close and loved one.
