Yes, we’ve aged. My first RS concert was 1972 at the international Amphitheatre in Chicago. When the band started, everyone on the floor pushed over the folding chairs that had been placed in rows and moved forward. On the way out, we took a kid on speed and gave him a ride, worried he’d bite his lip off.

Still the best concert I’ve ever seen. And even with the reported tussle and lack of security in Hollywood, I’m sure it was much calmer than 50 years ago.

the whole thing is bound to have a different vibe due to what these people paid and the entitlement mentality that comes with it

And as we are all older now we perform, act, behave different as well.
One of the changes is that many people are not in that euphoric, great, relaxed mood like they were as teens, twens, thirty or even forty-somehings.

Getting older with all the consequences makes you angry from time to time.
You see the world clearer and not through rainbow glasses.

Interesting points. Relaxed? No, those days are gone. Young people are euphoric and "relaxed" in that "whatever may come" kind of way. The thing about "relaxed" is that what "comes" when you get older, has to be judged against past glories. There is so much past to carry, and certainly not through rainbow glasses. "I can see clearly now" to qoute Jimmy Cliff. -Could also be said to be one of the premises for having the most responsibility craving jobs in the society.

Johnny Nash wrote I Can See Clearly Now, Jimmy Cliff just covered it.

An acquaintance of mine said he felt completely cheated - maybe even irrationally so saying he was "livid" about the entire overpriced experience. I guess his expectations were a bit too high. Way too high even.
But most of what I've read from people in attendance is that despite the short setlist and lack of any rarities whatsoever, they thought the show was good, and are making lemonade out of the lemons.
Maybe some day the show will be seen in a much better light when all the discussion of mob mentality and bad security has faded away, and any talk of short setlists and warhorses won't matter as much.

Hollywood was my 5th show on this tour and I thought it was excellent. I was in the pit in all 5 shows and felt like Hollywood was more electric than the others and the sound was excellent. Now, I don't try to get on the rail and stay toward the back of the pit so I avoided all the insanity I heard about getting in. I strolled into the pit toward the end of Ghost Hounds and literally had zero issues. I thought the entire experience was outstanding. To each their own.

On the set list, I really think the person who said the band treated it like the show for the rich instead of the show for diehard fans had it right. (Who first posted that, couldn't find it.) Some of both there, I'm guessing. I know many hard core fans like me who were there.

Most of us feel the same we and I agree. I had literally zero issues getting up front and staying there. The fans on both sides of me were very cordial and we all respected each other.

In terms of the guy who was taken away in handcuffs. Well, venue security doesn't handcuff people and remove them. It was the police that handcuffed and removed him. Big difference.

I was hoping for a few chestnuts in the set list and I like many others expected this but I would not let this give me a negative experince like others. My only disappointment with the setlist was the fact they gave us nothing in place of the vote song.

It was worth going just to see Midnight Rambler it was smoking and Ronnie's solo was outstanding.

Who cares if Keith misses a few chords or plays off key. It's still the best gig around. Even on an off night.

Same on both..
Sorry I didn't run into you George... great atmosphere and energy in the whole venue I thought..and the sound was as clear as I've ever heard it live.

Watched the whole pit stampede fiasco from a perch inside the main bar, and felt horrible for a few of those caught at the front of that,

Went to the venue early in the day and the makeshift line was mulling and forming with someone from it coming over to make sure we knew about the "numbers written on hands" system, which of course I did. Works ok and is fair most times, but the venue could care less about the system, and people were pissed about it was my take on the start of it.

Have decent pics of the brief may-lay, but no sense posting images of them, as there were definitely a few recognizable faces pushing and even swinging at the front.

Was genuinely surprised by some.. alcohol fueled for certain.

It's really hard to believe there were people stampeding after the tragedy that just happened a few weeks ago where people were hurt and even killed.

The "millionaires show" comment was mine. This was always an extra show: one more than they had originally planned to do, and all about attracting a prestige act to that very upmarket venue. It was always going to be an expensive, exclusive ticket, and just getting in was going to be an achievement in itself (as I think at least one person said: the actual show was less important than the excitement of Being There).

So they have a lovely smallish indoor venue with excellent sound - but this is the end of the tour and people are tired (even the indestructible Mick sat down briefly, and Keith quite a few times). A shorter setlist, sadly, made sense. But did it need to be so unimaginative? Why not drop something like Sympathy, that doesn't work so well in a small venue, and have a few more different things? But perhaps adjusting for the smaller stage was enough work without fiddling with the setlist too..

It wasn't a bad show. Seeing them work close up without a lot of the fancy lighting and runways and fireworks and all the usual pizzazz was fascinating, the sound by all reports was generally good, and some things worked very well - but because it was a very expensive show (because of the venue) some people were expecting much more than they got.

Concerts are meant for the audience at the show, not for people reading about them online or watching videos. A friend of mine who had seen the Stones about 100 times or more was there. His comment to me was “F*cking WOW. Same old set list but they nailed it like the old days. Sound was perfect!” So it wasn’t a disappointment or a shame for him. And that’s all that matters is how the audience that was there enjoyed it.

Kick ass live album? With all the guitar parts overdubbed maybe. The guitar playing last night was either missing or horrible with a few exceptions... Many guitar parts from the original tracks are played live by keyboards or horns. Keith wanders around most of the time and chimes in with a few mistimed chords. Woody's solos were mostly cringe inducing. But whatever. To each his own. They fulfilled their contract, that was the point

There was a lot of different smoke being passed around on the floor... must have missed this strain smoking smiley

That's the point: the target audience is the people in the room, and if the band chose quality over quantity of songs and got that right, then it doesn't matter what us keyboard warriors thought.

Seems to me there is a huge opinion gap between those watching online, or just random clips, and those on site. I don't know which conclusions to draw from that but I guess if you visit a gig you have invested in it: Expensive tickets, effort and travel (maybe even from abroad). Then, perhaps, you don't want to hear any criticism from those not attending? And vice versa. Just a wild theory, sorry...

Bingo. You nailed it. Being there is an immersive experience and when the band is on you can feel it. This is not limited to the Rolling Stones. I don't get how someone watching through someone's phone can tell all that much about anything and then conclude they are done. Let's face it, the comments saying the band is done is mostly made up with people watching someone else's stream or on YouTube and those who attended generally are saying let's do it again.

I agree with this 100%. You cannot get the vibe of the concert watching a cell phone video. Certainly you do not notice every flaw when the show is going on live in front of you that you can pick out watching a video.

Anyone who has been in the pit for one of their shows can understand that you get caught up in the energy of the show.Being in the pit has a different vibe than being in the nose bleed seats. Nothing on video can give you the same feeling.

Perhaps some truth to this, but I've read and heard a wide array of varying opinions from those who were in attendance. On the one hand you have JadedFaded's friend who thoroughly enjoyed the show despite the "Same old set list", while on the other hand you have the acquaintance I mentioned who was "livid" (his word) at the entire experience for a variety of reasons - expensive ticket, terrible security, and the tired/abbreviated setlist, etc.
And then there's Dean Goodman who in his words has "mixed emotions", and who ended his review by saying "The casino show finished stupendously, but I couldn’t shake this awful feeling, “What the hell just happened?”'
Full review from Dean Goodman published here on IORR, along w/several others, and plenty of great photos. > Hard Rock Live. For some reason, no review from Bjornulf yet, but lots of great photos from him as always. thumbs up

This was my 4th show of the tour. The sound, as many who were there have already pointed out, was excellent in this venue. Very intimate and comfortable, with great views for those of us who were seated and plenty of restrooms and bars so lines moved quickly. Was I somewhat disappointed with the shortened (by 1-2 songs…not that big of a deal) and standard set list? I suppose I was a little, but can’t complain when the quality and energy of the entire show was so good.

I was seated (thanks Mr. DDDD winking smiley ) by a couple from Boca Raton that I chatted with a good bit. The woman was a Stones fan but had never seen them live and the man had only seen them once, 50 years ago at Boston Garden! They absolutely LOVED the show. They danced, cheered, and waived and pointed back at Mick like they were having the time of their lives. I think many of us take for granted how spectacular the experience is for most people who have never seen The Stones or haven’t in years. We’ve all got very high expectations for what we feel like we deserve as long time and devoted fans, but the reality is, the band is performing a job and they’re catering to the majority of the audience, who are casual and largely just there to check off a bucket list item or collect some cool images for their Instagram.

So what if Mick flubs a line or Keith’s voice cracks or Ronnie misses an intro?! They’re still playing loose and mean and putting on a hell of a show after almost 60 years. That’s truly incredible! There’s nowhere I’d rather be than with my concert friends, watching my favorite band on the planet continue to do what defies all odds. I’ve loved every minute of this tour and I am very sad to see it end.
