Hmm, just reading through the comments and there seem to be a lot of "I built up these expectations and the band failed to deliver," which may not b entirely logical. I was only able to catch bits and pieces, and it may not have been the best show of the tour, but any Stones show is better than most other bands' shows, so I'm reserving judgment on this one.

Thank you Jody for the stream, it was nice to be able to watch the end of the last show of the tour in real time. Glad I was able to catch LA #1 live, and hope that my Scandinavian trip in July next year coincides with some European shows.

It may have all become a little formulaic, but it is still amazing that they can keep at it. They all seem to feed off of the energy of live shows. Keith was practically glowing at the end. It was also great to see Ronnie looking so animated. His hair even grew back in on this tour and he is starting to look like the old Ronnie Face. Sasha Allen has really come into her own compared to the times I saw her in 2016 and 2019, and seems to be in the prime of her career. Hats off to Steve Jordan for taking on the impossible task of filling Charlie's shoes and delivering the goods.

Given all the obstacles--the loss of Charlie, COVID, Ronnie's bouts with cancer, Mick's heart surgery, a couple of years stuck in idle with no shows--we are fortunate to still be able to enjoy the world's greatest Rock 'n Roll band. Gold rings on all of them and each and every one of you.

Well said!

The high expectations were probably based on all the hype which included the most expensive tickets in the smallest venue for the grand finale show of the tour.
But then there was no song vote nor any surprises, and the show ended up with the shortest setlist of the entire tour at only 17 songs for whatever reasons.
Some of the performances were no doubt fine (that JJF video is great), but everything else considered, the show did seem to be a bit anticlimactic.

Sitting at the airport to catch the red eye home. Beautiful venue with amazing sound quality. The boys put on a fantastic show, high energy from all. Exactly the show I expected. Odd that anyone would have thought we would have gotten anything other than this show and set list. Forty years for me following them all over. See you in Europe 2022.

Hearing the entrance to the floor was a shitshow. Pushing and shoving, no lining up.

Dreadful setlist.

I'm a casual fan---mid 30s, seen them 15 or so times, including two gigs this leg---but I'm done. It's been a delight. I've put enough gold rings on THEM.

So see ya down front next show?

Well, if it takes 15 gigs for a casual fan to get fed up with them, they are pretty obviously doing something right...

That would not surprise me one bit. I've seen lots of shitshow entrances in my time for the Stones and others. Even a gig with ott expensive tickets isn't spared.

I just went back to the “report” I filed here after the 2013 DC show, as I recalled having the same feeling back then that many did last night. Here are a few snippets of what I wrote:

“it felt to me that the Stones were on autopilot tonight, which was disappointing for the last show (ever?). It seems like they shot their load last Friday in Philly and this was just a quick coda to the music that was their US tour.“

“it felt to me that the Stones were on autopilot tonight, which was disappointing for the last show (ever?).”

“there was no mention of it being the last show, nor any surprises.”

[iorr.org]

Maybe the last show of a tour is not the one to go to for a special night?!

Still a night at a stones show is still a better night than most!

Got some good footage of that.
Was in the bar facing the line, waiting till it cleared out.

Switched to video on the camera when fists broke out..
Was really intense for a few..

Made it to the pit, and still plenty of room..cool smiley

Haven’t read the thread.. but had the time of my life regardless of the setlist etc.
Kind of expected a shorter setlist.

The sound in the venue was the best I’ve ever heard, the acoustics were amazing.
So glad I was able to make this show.
Had an absolute blast!

Honesty about the band is what separates Stones fans from KISS fans. KISS fans will buy and love everything the band tells them too. Some Stones fans are the same.

The Rolling Stones should never be compared to that band.

Kiss is ‘entertainment’ akin to professional wrestling, and it always was.

It’s like comparing the Harlem Globetrotters to the Chicago Bulls of the early 1990s. Apples and oranges, no disrespect to either of those fruits. Better yet, apples to cotton candy.

I’ve no problem with anyone expressing their opinion, good or bad. I don’t like everything they do. I have concerns about those that consistently spew negativity and seemingly attempt to shame and demean others who don’t share their same view. I don’t care if your ‘superior’ view based on the length of your fandom…like some ‘d*%k measuring contest…if you think it entitles you to be rude and obnoxious to anyone, YOU ARE SQUARELY IN THE WRONG, plain and simple.

Hi all from dnewton98 (Youtube handle)

- I will post my vids in a bit but they won't be the usual closeups and many are from far left and are very blurry. It was a fun show but worthless for vids for me given I wasn't on rail or in the seats

- Look at Fake Fan videos - he says he is very tall (wish I could have met him in person) and was center per vids I have seen. His iphone shot fantastic footage. Let me know who else has good footage so I can watch

- It was a fantastically fun show but one of the few I would say seats might be better than PIT.

Several reasons -
- Stage was quite low - so unless you were on the very limited rail space there were a ton of heads, arms and cell phones in your view. We were 2nd/3rd row back in PIT - very close - but you could not see much except between people and waving arms. Even back of PIT was fraught with heads, arms (due to low stage). I pulled back and to the side to see better

- Very limited rail space - smaller venue of course; and very insane door management - see other reports as they are all true. No way to even have a shot at the rail unless you were maybe the first 20 people - and even that was a maybe. The venue would not let you line up and shoo'd people away all day. Line flowed into slot/casino and walkway so they often dispersed the entire line. And when doors opened - well you would have had to be there to believe it - but suffice to say it was easy for 200+ people who got there last minute to get ahead of people who were there a while.

- Way taller people than normal - seriously tall people. ha. Possibly more he Germans and Danes at this show - ha ha.

- Sound was tougher up close - kind of performance/concert hall style so all speakers pointed further out which is pretty normal for that kind of venue - but made PIT sound much muddier.

- Loads of smoke for lots of songs and I thought the lighting was really tough - too red, dark - so jealous of newer iphones as they can handle it quite well (if you are close).

- The live camera footage on the big screens was outstanding though - so it should be great if they release it (please!)

- Our group of buddies had a fantastic couple of days and I was thrilled to be there - just not a video friendly show (would love to see and hear some footage from the seats - which were really close and had a fantastic view - I snuck up to seat area and it looked and sounded amazing from there but I didn't last long as security shoo'd me off and no empty seats to hide in)

Yikes! You were right about the demand exploding and prices going up up up!

But I ended up getting in for 100$ anyway. This was when 1000$ wouldn't get you in. So far under budget I am going to have to give myself another vacation.

The adrenaline rush was like nothing I have experienced in quite a while and I was flying so high the show itself almost didn't matter and I wasn't tripping on the setlist.

Really loved Sasha on Gimme Shelter. To be honest this is what keeps bringing me back over and over. I hope she fronts her own band!

Perhaps because it's an attitude that suggests no other bands are worth considering? That's probably not what Aquamarine meant - just that even a bad Stones show has things worth hearing in it (which msy not be the case with other bands).
