Street Fighting Man-1973

Does anyone know the source of this video? I know it's been on YouTube for years. It's certainly a professional single shot camera with soundboard audio. I've always wondered if there was more to it than just SFM and who is in possession of it?

Marvellous Mick Taylor.

I think this footage is new to me, actually. I fount we’ll ever get one, but another officially-released ‘73 show would be welcomed by most here, I’d imagine. A 1972 show as well, of course.

So I’m guessing that means the rest of the film (if it exists) is in some vault at the BBC?

No, I think they just got permission to film this clip for the OGWT interview.

Mick sounds really breathless.

I think any pro videos or recordings from this era would be welcomed.

Maybe they'll release something for the 50 year anniversaries of the 72 & 73 tours.

We can only hope.

OMG, Dude, this band is on f&%$ing F-I-R-E!

73 Stones are much different than 72 Stones, but oh WOW, it's really incredible stuff.

151,000+ views and not a single dislike.

Also, Charlie and Keith both seem to dig Taylor's playing.

The whole show's video needs to be released!

Well. Maybe they filmed the entire concert.... Let's bring it on!

They are said to have filmed a whole concert from three at the Empire Wembley pool (September 8 or 9) for the BBC but obviously nobody knows if the footage still exists.

i didn't know that in fact i had thought that the closest thing to a completely filmed show from 73 was 8mm amateur footage this is really exciting to me

are the stones even aware anymore that this show was filmed perhaps somebody should give them a push in the right direction to investigate if this footage still exists or perhaps someone can reach out to the bbc and see if they still have it

on a separate note does anyone know if any full shows where filmed by the bbc in 76 for the stones on the road special

I don’t know.

Taylor, GREAT player, is a wee bit too prominent here.

And Mick. The worlds greatest front man. But here he “sings” in my least favourite way of his… the clipped punk angry growl. I much prefer his singing of this song the way he did on YaYas a couple of years earlier. And Taylor’s playing then too.

This is a bit too, I dunno, frantic? for my liking. Good, not great.

This beautiful example is the reason why 1976 was my last Stones concert.
Those were the days, wild, raping a song and Taylor's noodling.

I remember watching this footage on The Old Grey Whistle Test and discussing it in my maths class at school the next day!

A 1973 Wembley show would just about be a Holy Grail find if it’s in the BBC vaults at all. I think as far a archives go the BBC doesn’t get rid of much. So if it was filmed I would have to think it’s still there. It’s kind of funny why they would film a show in Frankfurt especially since it was nearly a month after Wembley

The BBC didnt broadcast that special. It was on ITV.

Regarding 1973, the obvious chance to release a 1973 show was as part of the GHS reissue last year. I think its safe to say that by not doing so, its not going to happen.

a BBC-filmed show from Wembley '73 has been oft-rumoured but if its true, I think we would have had it confirmed by now, let alone have it released. Quite a few clips were 'liberated' from their vaults in the '90's (by a former poster on here who was a BBC employee and who was responsible for finding the Knebworth footage that we have) and that one was conspicious by it's absence.

Either the BBC have lost it or it never existed to begin with.

The Wembley show may exist in their private collection. What about the very good quality snippet of the concert from Australia 1973 with the ping pong balls. Maybe that exists too. For me it would be a full concert from New York 1972 as long as there are no scenes of Truman Capote and the jet set crowd

The Cross Fire Hurricane Australia 1973 shot looked like it was professionally filmed and the camera was not in the audience
