Nice little read re Rodgers and the Carters meetin' up. I hear the Stones "Sweet Virginia" in the "Bird's Kentucky Corn Crackers" tune. The late Merle Haggard did an entire tribute album to Jimmie Rodgers. Clint Eastwood's "Honkytonk Man" movie is also a take off on Rodgers life. Boz Scaggs does a great cover of Rodger's "Waiting On A Train" on his first solo album which is a really good album with the late Duane Allman on guitar.

How lucky was Ralph Peer when he went to Bristol TN to audition local talent and in the same week he found Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family?

It would be like George Martin signing the Rolling Stones the same week he signed the Beatles....
