Typical tabloid journalism, as seen across the whole world.

Take a grain of truth , embellish and exagerate it to the limit of credibility, then imply that various historical quotes were provided in interview.

It's always good to see an example of tabloid reporting on something you have personal knowledge of .

You Know how much of it is utter bollocks.

Then consider that a similar proportion of the news in the rest of the paper is also total bollocks .

Sobering thought isn't it .

I'm sure The Stones and their entourage treat this made up story in The Mail with the contempt it deserves.

Made up rubbish, from a rubbish tabloid.

I support your comments. Most tabloid news sources make up stories just to gain publicity and sell papers or web sites. Unfortunately, its probably too costly to initiate a legal battle. I am sure all of us that follow this message board will support you. And thank you for doing a wonderful job with this message board.

This is not atypical reporting from the British right wing tabloid press. As an observation, the Stones and their people have always managed to generate maximum publicity and keep their names in the press.

Remember a few weeks ago when a load of us were predicting low ticket sales and general doom and gloom? Now the whole world knows that they're on tour in the States and not playing one of their many hit songs. That's a whole lotta publicity for very little news. Not bad for a bunch of septuagenarians.

But in the end I see it (the rubbish) from my advertiser angle:

Nothing bad about us there, IORR.
More than that: They write about how deep IORR is connected with the band.
So our "brand" is coming out good here.

Obnoxious wording in the article to make it appear that BV was speaking directly to the reporter:
"Vik said: 'IORR has been spammed by political posts related to Brown Sugar lately.' "
More accurate would have been to write "Vik posted ..."

Bjornulf, just forget all this in spite of the great website you are administering! I appreciate your 'cleanup' practices to keep the discussions on topic, and therefore you have my deep sympathy and my great respect. This is what counts and not the bullshit some journalists are writing (but please remember, there are others among them!).

Once I read a Rolling Stones board without a moderator, I actually forgot which one it was. They had pages for every album but after two or three vomments people began insultung each other in an obnoxious way. Am I for example not entitled to say that I hardly listen to the 'Aftermath' album at all although I can appreciate it as an important artistic step in the carreer of the Rolling Stones? It is all a matter of taste, and as soon as we express our opinion in a decent manner we should be entitled to do so. I immediately went back to IORR because you do a great job in keeping people on polite terms.

All we can say isa big THANK YOU, and all we hope is that you keep up the good work for a long time to come.

I'm a journalist, and I went with my office to visit some London-based newspapers 5 years ago.

By a country mile, the Daily Fail was the least serious newspaper of the lot.

They're rehashing stuff without giving credit and many stories are based on pure fabrication. Paparazzi photo-based stories without any substance at all.

It's click, click, click.

It's crap.

The best source of legitimate news here in the U.K. is the pub.
