Sorry, slightly offtopic here, but I was just thinking, did the Stones ever play the same song twice in a show, be it on purpose or accidentally?

Standard admission tickets starting to pop up. $1006 face. All in lower orchestra.

These (gone now) are still, with fees, a few hundred over original face value paid.

There were entire rows in 113,116 and 117. The $1006 plus fees is face value.

Didn't get in in original sale, but yes these would be face in the 104-112 (not sure about "couches") sections. Saw 117 section in the back at $850 early on resell.

I saw them but many appear to be on resale now. Which is ridiculous considering resale tickets are barely moving. Someone is going to lose a lot of money here.

The face value ones are gone for the moment.

Still a week to go, don't blink with the resellers yet.

On 117, MrDDDD, bought one in lower row in initial sale. Never saw couches.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for face for 117 in initial sale?

I paid, with fees, rounding off the cents, 864.00...Looks almost like a bargain now, ha. I sold it
to an acquaintance for exactly that. Have bought a pit ticket instead.

Thanks angee... the resale one I saw for $850-ish plus fees was a deal apparently.
They must move the pricing levels up as you get closer to the stage in those sections.

Q for pit at this show should be interesting. I don't see it happening with our usual lunchtime start up.Security for casino won't allow it. I hope im wrong but they aren't the easiest bunch at this place. At least in my previous experience with them

The market is being manipulated and some of us are counting on the market looking different in a few days. I am counting on a lot of those unsold pit tickets to end up in the LD envelopes.

I would very nervous if I were holding tickets for this show I didn't plan on using.

If the tickets are being held by fans or scalpers then they can't be Lucky Dipped. If there is a sizeable LD, then we have further proof that Ticketmaster is evil.

And went very quickly...

I am still hoping for at least a somewhat out-of-the ordinary set list, which they often seem to play at smaller venues. Maybe this one is not small enough. We shall see.

At Radio City, capacity of 6,000+, they played Shattered, Oh No Not You Again, and Worried About You, but that was back in 2006, and at a one-off event. a fund-raiser.

I was there and have the poster and the program framed on my wall!!! Awesome show

Would have been a nice gesture from the Stones to price this show more reasonably to begin with, but it's all about greed and profits from the top to the bottom.

Hairball--from what I understand the Stones have literally nothing to do with ticket prices. They get a fee to perform and the venue sets the ticket prices. Plus, shouldn't whomever sets the prices get to charge what the market will bear?

Not sure who priced this one, but it doesn't really matter whether HR paid them a flat fee and then they sell the tix, or if it's on the band, either way the prices would end up where they are now very quickly.

Whoever priced it, they nailed it, in terms of market value.
Might have even under-shot it with all the resale tix available.

Besides Pit, as far as Platinum TM tickets left, there are only 2 single couch seats, and like six tix now left in the whole venue. Sold out in other words.

The Stones started this concept of pricing tix to make the $$ fans will spend instead of scalpers a long time ago. Smart.

Perhaps, but maybe they could have added a stipulation of some sorts such as no tickets will be sold officially over $500 (which still seems overpriced).
Also, bands have the ability to have the "resale" option on TM disabled at their request - might have been the right thing to do in this case.
.
I recall during the Licks tour there was a small membership fee for the official fan club, and each membership included a special code for presale access (among other perks) to any given show you wanted.
Some purchased several memberships in order to get several codes, and many of those codes were used to purchase theater/club tickets at apprx. $75 - $100 each give or take, and they were all GA fair and square.
Others were used for front row face value seats at arenas and stadiums, or whatever best avaialable seats there were - this was all before platinum and resale shenanigans, and the lucky dips, etc.
I was the lucky recipient for a pair at Vredenburg with my code, and a friend pulled a pair for the Astoria (we traded one for one)- everyone was happy, including the Stones who made money from the membership fees.
Those were the good old days I suppose, and today it's all out of control with greed no matter whose involved, or how one tries to explain, defend, rationalize, or justify it.
No matter though, people will pay the price and it's going to be a good show no doubt, but the prices are obscene.

*The Vegas Joint show at the Hard Rock in 2002 was the one overpriced anomaly, and the irony is it was probably the least memorable show of all the club/theater shows of the tour.

Just scored a "platinum" ticket in 113 for less than others they have in same section at "standard" pricing..
$1006 right now (a couple still available) for standard pricing.

This was "platinum" pricing for 113 row C for $850..confused smiley

They have everything to do with ticket prices! Just by the amount of money they ask. Now some of it's to be expected since they are only doing 2 shows a week and it's very expensive to keep on the road.

The venue is rented/secured by the promoter. Now we don't know for sure but how they are being paid. The Rolling Stones are using 1 promoter this tour who is likely paying a flat fee (and I am almost positive this show is a favor or even contractual due to all the 75% full venues). There could be bonus for selling more or the option for an extra show for selling less etc.

Resale tickets are not really an indication of an event being underpriced so much as the promoter shifting the risk. Just like Vegas where 20% of the house was still on resale, and unsold when the lights out. Something tells me we may see a similar situation here.

I've also seen promoters/LN mishandle inventory, keep it priced too high with too many platinums then try to dump it too fast without any last minute buyers.

There is a minimum of 150 platinum priced pit tickets which means they are being held by the promoter. Those can be lucky dipped. The promoter can also take a guess that many resale tickets will go unsold and increase the pit capacity accordingly. I've seen this happen.

Also there are likely many more reserved seats we aren't seeing as they also employ artificial scarcity, which means they have a few platinums in a section and when they sell, they trickle out a few more.

I have tracked hundreds or thousands of events just this year and while this one is unique, it could be the same old story but on a different scale.
