The venue "Hard Rock Live" do of course cost money to hire, money that is going to the Hard Rock corp.
What is most important is probably the high profile branding you get from having The Rolling Stones at your premises. Hard Rock Las Vegas got The Rolling Stones to perform at The Joint, their small club arena on their premises, first time on Feb 15, 1998, it was the last show of the 1997/1998 North America tour. I am sure it was a scoop, and it made branding for them.
Promoters are saying they don't make much money from booking The Rolling Stones, but it will be on your CV forever, so the Hard Rock Hollywood CV looks good right now, or at least once the show is being performed Nov 23.

well, in 2009 I was in Las Vegas to see Bob Dylan. The pirce for the hotel room at the Hilton was less than the price for a bed in a youth hostel in San Francisco…
Wasn't that the year they played the MGM Grand the following evening?
That was in 2002.
2002 - went to both...MGM was the better of the two.

Very frustrated message; think the face value price was very fair considering the rather small value and it's absolutely not a rip off. Also Im sure the place will be packed with (real) fans who have seen the Stones (many times) before.
Ofcourse it would sell out in a few minutes and as a result of that a number of tickets will be resold at a significant higher price.
This gives the people who were unlucky with TM a 2nd choice to purchase ticket price at market value....

Hello, Chris. I don't like it and I understand the frustration, trust me, I do. But my point was, if people didn't pay those prices time and time again, they wouldn't be that high.

If you are using a VPN, Ticketmaster doesn't like those.
Otherwise their traffic management strategies are definitely inequitable.
But basic facts are the venue holds 7,000 and more than 7,000 people want to go.

A casino do need customers, and a hotel do need residents. The casino will probably look forward to new customers, not just attending the show, but also leaving some money at the tables of the casino floors. And hotel room prices are up by 50% from $400 to $600 or more on show day at their hotels on the site, so I assume it is good business for the casino to have 7,000 customers on their location for a day or two.

I do get really annoyed about ticketmaster, Stubhub and the rest of the scalpers making it really tough for the loyal fans paying way above their financial means at times.
I just feel a better deal could be had for the fans who would love to be at the show, especially the fans who live in the nearby area.
The Rolling Stones have been great with the Lucky Dips idea which has helped a lot of fans out over the years, including myself .
I would love to think that a last minute sell off at a reasonable price, for a hundred or two hundred tickets just a few days before the gig.
Have it done as a free lottery to enter on The Rolling Stones website, like they did many years ago for a free Los Angeles gig if I remember.
I entered that one and scored a pair of tickets much to my surprise, and gave it back for someone else, as I couldn't be there.
Just my take on the whole situation for this gig.

Lottery would be one option. Springsteen did that for his Broadway shows (the initial run in 2017-2018)
They basically did a lottery for the ability to buy tickets. It was 2 tickets max too, I believe.
Reselling was allowed though.

Good point. I know a photographer here in So Fl that shoots for the Hard Rock. He told me years ago when then were building this that the Hard Rock will get everyone to play. This is there flagship & they will spare no expense. This was around the time the Super Bowl was coming to Miami. . They are going to have an brand new room to play in and will throw big $'s at everyone. The giant hotel in the shape of the guitar, huge pools etc. Hopefully, like Clapton, The Stones will keep coming back. Clapton has played the Hard Rock here for years...even when he was playing larger venues/arenas on the rest of his tour. I just hope they come up with little better ticket policy next time!

But "real fans" will be there I agree, and what that actually means is they're putting people in financial hardship who lost the ability to think straight. To me that's despicable. i believe ticketmaster should handle this correctly
calling an ticket agent for this is not going anywhere
i will move on tampa coming and night of the show i guess i could chat with
everyone outside..hey mick play a warmup show at funky biscuit blues club

There are all sorts of blocking tactics TM uses against people or devices that abuse the site, hammering it with multiple ticket requests per IP but they do block out regular fans trying to get tickets. These blocks are tighter during the initial onsale period.
There are lots of tickets left, they trickle out the platinums using artificial scarcity, whether it's resale enabled or not, platinum tickets are often priced against tickets they receive from the resale feed.
Thanks Dan! I appreciate you discussing this.. So, thoughts on an answer during these "blocks?" What kind of device should a person buy? Should TM invent a special laptop wired directly to them that we can lease from them prior to ticket releases used only for purchasing tickets from them? .. Or is it more like the poster above hints that a small percentage of buyers will get through but others will be forced to buy platinum if they want a ticket? .. Not trying to be smartass.. But beyond silly to actually get through and then not being "allowed" to purchase.. Of course with the money I didn't get to spend I could repurchase a new copy of every Stones album instead, a few of them are beginning to skip.
