It was to short but fun to hear Mick genuinely laugh about things

The usual jovial PR stuff then?

Not really. Howard asked Mick about dancing and noted that Elvis did and some bands like The Beatles made a decision not to so Mick gave him the story about dancing. Howard asked about song writing, they did talk about preparing to tour and of course Charlie.

Well what the question and what was it Mick answered about Charlie?

I tried to record it but for some reason it wouldn't work. Must be some sirius block on the audio or something.
I thought the interview was just ok. Howard too nervous and it was too short. Lingered on certain subjects like dancing for too long instead of moving on to other topics/questions.
If you missed it you didn't miss much other than Mick misses Charlie so much you could hear it in his voice.

Never change Howard.

Not even 2 minutes after the interview ends and he's describing in detail how he was jerking it to lesbian porn a few hours before meeting Mick.

Hey to release the tension : let the poison

Mick Jagger Remembers the Rolling Stones’ ‘Heartbeat’ Charlie Watts on ‘Howard Stern’

“When [Watts] was sick, he said, ‘You’ve gotta just carry on and do this tour. Don’t stop because of me.’ So we did,” Jagger reveals in new interview

By Jon Blistein
September 29, 2021

Mick Jagger reflected on his work and friendship with Charlie Watts during an interview Wednesday with Howard Stern.

Stern noted that the Rolling Stones kicked off their North American tour in St. Louis with a video tribute to Watts that primarily featured footage of the late drummer not dazzling crowds with crazy fills or solos, but keeping a steady beat. “Charlie was the heartbeat for the band, and also a very steady personality,” Jagger said in response. “He was not to be perturbed. He was a very reliable person, wasn’t a diva — that’s the last thing you want in a drummer.” (“Enough divas in that band,” Stern quipped in response, and even Jagger had to laugh.)

Jagger went on to speak about the way Watts imbued his rock and roll drumming with the subtleties he gleaned from jazz, while he also praised Watts’ dry sense of humor and their relationship outside the Stones.

“I miss Charlie because he had a great sense of humor and we also were, outside of the band, we used to hang out quite a lot and have interesting times. We liked sports, we’d go to football, we’d go to cricket games, and we had other interests apart from music.”

Jagger was also candid about what it’s been like embarking on a new era without Watts. He noted that in some ways, Watts remains a prominent presence: “Every time we get together now and rehearse, we say, ‘Oh, Charlie would say this, then he would do that.’” But Jagger also pointed out that Watts – before his death, when he was forced to drop off the band’s upcoming tour – was adamant the Stones keep going without him.

“We did so many shows with him and so many tours and so many recording sessions, it’s strange being without him,” Jagger said. “And he said, when he was sick, he said, ‘You’ve gotta just carry on and do this tour. Don’t stop because of me.’ So we did.”

I loved that he played Let it Loose, the gem of Exile, and asked why they never play it.

Howard played " Let It Loose" as background music during the interview or after? That's my all-time favorite Stones song ( Along with Wild Horses) What did Mick say about why they never play it? I can guess....degree of difficulty.

Mick just said they can only do two ballads a show so there’s no room

It would be rough without Nicky anyway

I agree, one of their all time best songs

Howards fave also.

Let It Loose is maybe my favourite as well. It's kind of like the I Got The Blues of Exile, but better. Wild Horses is incredibly popular but I never liked it, and was super disappointed the other night when it won the STL song vote. I would've killed for Ruby Tuesday or even Angie, which was played at the Chicago 2019 tour opener on the b-stage

Mick seemed genuinely surprised being asked why they never play Let It Loose. Like it never occurred to Mick, but he couldn't see why not.

I think it's a bit unusual to ask specific questions like that. Most journalists aren't fans. Maybe that's the reason he looked surprised (he had to think twice)?

That answer is a stock cop out. This show hasn't changed in years...decades. His big ego won't let him make adjustments. This entire show should have been revamped a half dozen tours ago. Even towards the end of the St. Louis show, Jagger was running out of gas and slowing down considerably—which is totally understandable. Besides, Nicky Hopkins died 27 years ago.

Howard has absolutely been given a list of "do not discuss topics". This is no longer your Howard of 20 years ago.

No longer the same Howard, agreed. But he absolutely has NOT been given a list of do not discuss topics, and if he was, he would ignore it.

You clearly don't know how much Howard has changed. He absolutely takes Do Not Discuss topics nowadays because thats the only way he's gotten certain people on. Sorry, this isn't an opinion, its just a fact. He had Hillary Clinton on last year and you think he was given carte blanche? Not a chance.

Didn't matter here, he was too nervous to ask anything even slightly untoward.

I clearly do know how much he's changed, it's probably the only reason Mick agreed to come on. If he did not discuss something, it was NOT because of a Do Not Discuss list, it was because he chose not to. You clearly do not know much about Howard, if you did, you would know that he refuses to accept Do Not Discuss lists, even today.

Boring, unrevealing interview. How about asking some interesting questions like how does Mick write songs or albums with bad mixes like IORR.Even what his 5 favorite albums are.Although Howard may be richer than Mick

It was good ...
Howard was most likely a lil
nervous but his enthusiasm and love for
Stones seeped thru it all...
They moved across a fair number of subjects until
things started ta warm and got into the song writing area...

Then it was kill switch time ... over too soon ...
Howard wants ta go again but Mick didnt commit ... mmmmmmmmm
