What a fascinating read, IMHO, regarding the BBC and musical/other performances from the 1960s onward. One can only wonder what performance gems, once broadcast/taped/filmed, are tucked away in someone's pantry cabinet awaiting discovery. I am sure a number of folks here on IORR watched the shows noted in the article.
In the early 1960's my (older) brother's sister-in-law actually worked at the BBC as a tape librarian and I remember her talking about having to overwrite tapes etc because of the expense - they must have been the Bing Crosby Ampex tapes.
But the BBC does have a full recording of the final TW3!
