I'll nominate You Got Me Rocking. What on earth are those lyrics about?

I truly hope this isn't an attempt to make Stones songs 'woke'
Because Fu*ck Woke!
If not: Some words or phrases are 'Out of Time'(phun intended) nowadays of course. But to me it's just the Zeitgeist. And that has it's charm. Phones don't have rotary dials anymore for example, but we perfectly understand what Jagger means.
And some snowflakes probably want to cancel the Stones because of songs like Stray Cat Blues, Some Girls, Under my Thumb and Brown Sugar, but they were not written in 2021, they were written in 1968 or 1978. Get over it and grow a pair of balls.
Dude the only one talking about 'woke' here is you, Trotting out the greatest hits too I see with 'snow flakes' and 'cancel'. You sound like a grumpy old man ranting at nobody in particular. Reminds me of Clint Eastwood's 'debate' with Hilary. Pathetic is the word that comes to mind.Quote

I’m sure there are lots of lyrics that Mick and Keith would wife differently if they could. There are some absolute howlers: Sparks Will Fly, You Got Me Rocking, etc. In regard to those that are controversial for other reasons: they wouldn’t be written that way today. I’m Mick would convey his points more appropriately. I don’t think anything should be airbrushed, although I do think it fine and appropriate that the lyrics are altered onstage: Some Girls and Brown Sugar.

No form of art should ever be altered in order to not offend.A great piece of work will always supersede anyone’s hurt feelings.Mediocrity is a dangerous road.
You want something nice go listen to fuxxing Humpty Dumpty.

I don't believe that either. I just don't feel it'd be appropriate for Mick to sing 'black girls just want to get fu**** all night' on stage.
I certainly don't feel the record itself should be censored at all.

It is not possible to claim agreement with the lyrics being changed for a stupid fear of offending and at the same time state that a work of art should not be altered for the same reason.
You can’t take it a la carte you either place the importance of a great work over someone’s fragile feelings or you don’t.
