Welcome to the jungle man the world of RS fans. I'm sure Keith has said its like being a ballerina in a minefield. You'll be fine mate just don't take seriously some of what the die hards may say.
Its just music.
PS.. Rockman (nbr2) is on your side .Sweet As.

I second that emotion. As much as It absolutely breaks my heart that Charlie is gone, Steve Jordan is the perfect man for the job. And a fantastic drummer. Winos in '92, still one of my fave shows ever. Roll on you devils!

............................. 2018

YES YES total blessings to Steve Jordan ...

The Stones are lucky to have had him
around their camp for a number of years now ...

Much like Charlie's love and knowledge
of jazz and different musicals styles you'll
find that the many Steve Jordan interviews
available reveal his own very similar deep
love and knowledge of drumming styles ... music etc......

And crazy as it sounds but thanks ta Mick for goin
out there solo with She's Da Boss and pushin' Keith
ta go .. Hail Hail.. Winos..Xeyed and all or other
wise Steve might never have got ta ride into that Stones camp ....

Steve's got the toughest gig around right now,
But he's got history so that helps.

He could play the best set of his life & he'll still
Be criticized.

I'm sure he'll gel fine & wish him the best of luck.

Can't wait to hear the new engine

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

It's kind of like the dilemma Daryll faced, copy Wyman's sound as close as possible, or try and do something different. Time has decided how that worked out. Jordan has to find that balance between trying to copy, and make it sound like the Rolling Stones, or do something different. The Stones has been a four sound, instead of a five sound since Wyman left. Will it remain a four sound, or will it be a three sound? At least Jordan is a rock drummer. I hope it doesn't turn out like Kenney Jones with the Who, and more like Zak Starkey.

Great last paragraph, Rockman.

Yes ( and I really like STcool smiley that 84/5 to 87/88 period was necessary and beneficial. They came back much stronger. New lease of Life and 'live'

(Mick'solo shows so important in that context too. In your neck of the woods.

Hope you caught one.

Great photo too.

Yup, all power and grace to Steve Jordan tonight and every night.

There will always be whiners, but a true Rolling Stones fan always accepts the choices the band members make. They are dedicated to give the best possible show for us fans, even when cicumstances are very, very difficult.
Steve will be doing fine, just like Darryl has done. There's only one Bill, one Charlie, but that doesn't mean professional replacement musicians couldn't handle the job.
Brian was unique, but Mick replaced him brilliantly and such can be said of Ronnie as of 1974/75. Whiners, get a beer and relax. All we be fine.

A very good luck to Steve. of course nobody can fill the shoes of Charlie. But Steve is the right man.

With all due respect, I don't think Steve gives a @#$%& what we have to say. He knows he's capable, and isn't doing this in any form of disrespect. I believe he's totally confident in himself to already know that. He's no snowflake. Best of luck mate. I don't think they should be touring without Charlie, but I sure as shit don't blame Steve lol. He's gonna be awesome.

here we go and, with no reason, some fans who feel differently are provoked and insulted, in a thread that, to my understanding, wanted to be just a good vibe thread wishing the best to steve jordan for his new job

why is that is beyond my understanding

good luck to you steve jordan, I love your work with keith, you're great, you're going to do a great job

from a whiner who feel "no charlie, no stones" and who does not insult fans who feel differently

This is Steve Jordan, a true professional, a Charlie favorite, Winos member, Keith friend..........he will rock the house down!

Not even an issue!

Good luck Steve, although you won't need it, there probably wasn't a better choice and it's nice that Keith finally gets a say in picking a new member of the band, about time too and what a bonus Steve is Keiths friend.

Charlie will obviously be missed and he was irreplaceable so this will be different but in a good way as things were getting tired.

I think this is going to be a great tour for Keith, i still think he has something up his sleeve, one final trick.

Good points, I think it's going to be more obvious if he doesn't play like Charlie than when Darryl came in and just did his thing, sticking to the bass lines mostly but sounding completely different and not standing out at all like Bill with his little hands and pick did.

I saw Steve Jordan playing once.

He came on stage at a John Mayer concert at Jones Beach Theater, NY in 2013 as a second drummer for a few songs. He only had a Kick Drum, Snare, Hi-Hat & a Crash Ride Cymbal. It can't get more minimalistic.

He sounded so good. What a groove. He made those songs roll. He wasn't pushing the songs. Actually the same way Charlie played.

Due to that I assume that he'll do a great job and the Stones will sound great.

Kenny Jones would be much better in the Stones than in the Who.
But Steve is a good one and the Stones these days look for good friends, not so much for the perfect drummer.
