Did they ever record anything in Toronto other than the El Mocambo gigs?
This story would have had to have happened in 77 then. I'm sure Bill was exaggerating a bit but I have read where Charlie has sat behind the drum kit for hours on end during rehearsals etc.
Agreed. And it didn’t make sense. Charlie woke up, didn’t know where he was, but knew he had trousers ready???

Oddly enough, at the end of the interview the house band kicks into Honky Tonk , the drummer- Steve Jordan.

I remember watching that when it aired. Paul Shaffer had an excellent band and were usually the house band for the R'n'R Hall of Fame ceremonies. Steve Jordan on drums, Will Lee on bass and I believe the guitarist at that time was Hiram Bullock (not sure of spelling) and later on Sid McGuinness would be the guitarist.

It may have to do with that. Not sleeping 4 days without any drugs involved seems impossible

This interview is strange, and even stranger is this story about Charlie. in all the remarks about Charlie, in interviews with Keith, or Mick, or any others connected with the band none have mentioned this about Charlie not sleeping.
I believe Bill decided it would be funny to take part of a story attributed to Keith, about not sleeping for several days.. and ascribe it to Charlie.
I remember watching this strange clip years ago and not believing it then, either.

The most curious part (to me) was trying to picture Charlie buying used trousers...
