Besides Ronnie, Rod says his guests at Glastonbury today will be Mick Hucknall and Lulu:

“Mick Hucknall and I are going to come up and sing She Was Only A Pilot’s Daughter But She Kept Her Cockpit Clean,” Rod roars with laughter.

“Only joking. We are going to sing If You Don’t Know Me By Now. And then Lulu is coming on.

“She is going to sing Hot Legs and then Ronnie Wood is coming on with me and Lulu to do Stay With Me.”

We’re really sounding good.

“All three of my guests are in excellent form and are playing well. We had the best rehearsal yesterday.”

He did or didn't promise Kenny Jones as well? Feels like yet another cocktease from Rod The God.

Kenney on Facebook
·
"Wishing Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood good luck today at Glastonbury! Wish I could be there with you. Rock on "

Reaction Simon Tickner ; Apparently, Kenney is recovering from a wrist operation, had a bit of carpel tunnel, just bad timing...

Always "bad timing" with these guys. 50 years and they're almost always missing a crucial member to make it a true reunion. But fun Ronnie and Rod played together. Hardly anything different for Rod but I supposed the 3 of them will all talk about playing together till another one is in the ground.

A bit of a joke, really. This year’s festival had been an absolute disgrace. It always is, yet it’s excelled itself this year.

Ronnie clearly ready to tour.

I was a bit OTT, there. It’s not my cup of tea, that’s all. If you ‘love Glasto’ and the BBC, that’s perfectly fine. winking smiley

I don't think Rod would let Ronnie sing that at his show.

Great tune, though.

Rod performed Ooh-La-La in Jacksonville earlier this year. Reading that got me more interested in his planned tour, to the point that I'm going now.

I'm hoping a week from today when his One Last Time, more rock n roll era Rod tour opens in Raleigh, that in addition to Faces era stuff like Maggie May, I Wish I Were Blind, You Wear It Well, and Stay With Me, we'll get at least Ooh-La-La, Mandolin Wind, and hopefully more from that period too

(Later solo Rod shite like Hot Legs and Do Ya Think I'm Sexy I know I'll have to hear, obviously, but it is what it is.)

Of course I'm also hoping that Ronnie and Kenney will have been invited and play too, but I'm expecting there to be almost no chance of that, Rod being who he is.

I was there, my first time Glasto attendance. Absolutely enamoured of the whole event. Definitely going back another time (if a ticket comes by).
Ronnie looked fine, playing well and enjoying every minute of being there with his ex-comrade, ready to go on a tour at any given time, with or without the Stones.

Nah I was just wondering if you had gone in years previous, for me the peak of festivals was the 90s, they’ve changed a lot since those days and probably for the better but the “community vibe” back then was amazing.
(Maybe more to do with technology than the actual festivals now)

Hey, Paddy. Yeah, the 90's festival was undoubtedly incredible. Today, it seems to be more of a middle-class, exclusive event, and a jolly for 500(!) staff of the BBC. I do genuinely recognise, however, that there some epic performances 'back in the day' Still, at least Pulp and Supergrass were on the bill this year.

...I'm hoping [July 8th] when his One Last Time, more rock n roll era Rod tour opens in Raleigh [actually he added an earlier date, in Montreal], that in addition to the Faces era stuff he usually does sing, Maggie May, I'd Rather Go Blind, You Wear It Well, and Stay With Me, we'll get at least Ooh-La-La, Mandolin Wind, and hopefully more from that period too

So, that didn’t happen. The concert wasn't any kind of return to rock for "One Last Time."

July 8, 2025 Raleigh North Carolina
Coastal Credit Union Music Park, an outdoor amphitheater

It was 97F still at 6 PM, and humid.
Cheap Trick played 7:30 - 8:30
Rod and his band/Vegas-style revue crew played 9:00 - 10:33

Setlist

(I added release years for my own reference in that I stopped following new Rod Stewart music after 1974.)

1 - Infatuation (1984)

2 - Having a Party (Sam Cooke cover)

3 - Some Guys Have All the Luck (The Persuaders cover) (1984)

4 - Love Train (The O’Jays cover) (The six backup singers/dancing girls are featured, but Rod did sing during much of this dance production.)

5 - The First Cut Is the Deepest (Cat Stevens cover) (1976)

6 - Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright) (1976)

7 - Forever Young (by Rod, not Bob, but Dylan got co-writing credit) (1988)

(Interlude of instrumental Celtic music while the six backup singers/musicians/dancing girls dance jigs and Riverdance style. Rod goes backstage for a costume change and a break)

8 - Young Turks (1981)

9 - Maggie May (1971) (with a snippet of another Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood-written song, Gasoline Alley)

10 - I'd Rather Go Blind (Etta James cover) (1972)

11 - It Takes Two (Kim Weston cover) (1991)

12 - Lady Marmalade (The Eleventh Hour cover) (Performed by the backup singers/dancers. Rod goes backstage for a costume change and a break.)

13 - If You Don't Know Me by Now (Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes cover)

14 - Have I Told You Lately (Van Morrison cover) (1991?)

15 - You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim) (1977)

16 - Rhythm of My Heart (Marc Jordan cover) (1991)

17 - Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? (1978)

18 - Proud Mary (Creedence Clearwater Revival cover) (Performed by featured backup singers/dancing girls who homage Tina Turner shimmies as they sing. Rod goes backstage for a costume change & break.)

19 - Sailing (The Sutherland Brothers Band cover) (1975)

Encore
20 - Stay With Me (Faces cover) (1972)

Rod wore four, maybe five different outfits. It was what I imagine his Vegas residency revues must be, an elaborate show of almost entirely his post-rock n roll era music, his solo work. It heavily featured his six young attractive dancing girls, all being backup or even lead singers; three of them also play instruments.

Basically, Maggie May (with a Gasoline Alley snippet), I'd Rather Go Blind, and Stay With Me were the only Faces-era songs we got.

In interviews leading up to the tour he stated that he does two-hour shows. This wasn't that either, but he is 80, was definitely feeling last night's heat and humidity, and nobody begrudges him looking out for his health.

His voice sounded healthy.

A thought:
Shouldn't this thread, about a band that Ronnie was in during its 1969-1975 duration, exist here without the diminuation of an "Off Topic:" prefix in its title?

We do have too many OT threads. But information about Faces by extension relates to Ronnie. (Is a thread about the X-pensive Winos "Off Topic"?)

Dumb question - that's the Lulu from Man with the Golden Gun game (and others)? Just wanted to make sure l there's not some new Lulu I'm unaware of.

If so she looks amazing for 86!
