Ronnie Wood: MVP.

It's 1975 all over again,

Alternate version..never heard this before this afternoon. One of Woody's better solo tunes. Can it really be 51 years ago?

I really like the song "Big Bayou" on Ronnie and Rod's solo album.
I would love to hear them sing it together.
It will be interesting to see how they sing the part about the Gulf of Mexico.

That was on the flip of "I can feel the fire" .

Loved it , and was very pleased when the version turned up on the next album, Now Look.

RW was awesome with the Faces..dropped off technically with the Stones..maybe too drunk/too comfortable/less responsibility were the reasons.
His Faces efforts were top class

Lester Bangs said that when Ronnie joined the Stones he "took a civil service job." In other words, he didn't have to work as hard.

The Stones kept him on a short leash, and didn't really utilize the full extent of his talents as a composer and guitarist.

Financially, it undoubtably worked out better for him, but artistically it was a disaster.

If one can show me examples of technical drops offs or artistic disasters in RW's studio playing with the Stones, and live performances from 75 up to 82, I would be truly grateful, because I can't find any.

Wow, didn't know the history of this song, I'd never heard it until I bought "Slide On This" in '92 thinking it was a new song.
