This sounds good!! I have always thought I like to see the Faces live

Sounds good, my only worry is if Kenney can still keep up behind the drums. His drumming during their 2015 reunion was very rough.

Years ago we went on a pilgrimage to Austin just to see Ian McLagan at the Lucky Lounge. What an apt name, I thought, as I casually watched the show on a couch at the front of stage just feet away from the man.

On that day Mac and the Bump Band conjured the sound and spirit of Faces. No other members were needed.

I'm a Ronnie Lane fan too, but I think that McLagan will be hard to replace. His warm instrumental colors were the heart and soul of the band.

Who would have thought...the Faces (Ronnie, Rod, and Kenney) being more productive than the Stones...

Looking forward to hearing about the tour news, and might see them if they make it out to the west coast specifically the SoCal/Los Angeles area

Impossible to replace. The keyboard equivalent of Keith or Ronnie.

Rod's voice isn't up to a night of fast songs. He'll need backing vocals

And of course I love Ronnies Guitar playing. But no, The Faces are history. Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood could join together and play some music. What ever it would sound like. But not trying to be the Faces.

Uh how is Ronnie gonna fit in a tour with the Faces when he is supposedly going to be touring with the Stones?

Ian cannot be replaced, period. And such a kool kat too. He sent me an autographed copy of the Faces Five Guys set. Really miss him.

I doubt there's gonna be much of a tour. Rod's already got a full slate of solo dates booked all the way into September 2022. If they do anything at all, it'll probably be something along the lines of what we got from Cream in 2005. A couple of nights in London, a couple of nights in New York.

the performance of 'Stay with me' at the Brit awards in 2020 was quite poor. Rod Stewart has lost his voice long ago etc.

Rod's vox on the 2020 Stay With Me were a shame, really. Sounded like an old man trying to ca$h in and assert long-ago lost relevance.

But why?

I find a new drummer/ Steve musically quite interesting.
But both Daryl and Steve not the best choice for the Stones. (If this has to be done).

Technically lots of musicians could do the job. But I could think of a few that imo fit better. I just mentioned Kenny cause we were talking Faces.
Iorr showed he could do the Charlie style. But with a nice (and better?) touch.

sways RW found 60 odd tracks and such...something he can use with the Stones and help them finish their album?

RW always plays better in The Faces to my ears. He is his own man and plays songs he created. I think his playing is more creative and inspired with not
having to play/copy MT's leads? RW's is a funky and gritty style and beautiful solo's on ballads.

Maybe they wanted more Winos than Faces in the band.

You know I wonder who the deciding vote was for Daryl...Charlie's love of jazz, one would suspect maybe his vote carried a little extra weight.

Yes, loved Ronnie's work with the Faces and solo and, although I love him as a Stone, I think his best work was with the Faces.

If The Faces are to perform larger venues, what are the odds on the reunion being marketed as ‘Rod Stewart and The Faces’? Is the ‘Faces’ name alone a big enough draw for high-capacity arenas?

One of the great live acts of the 1970's but....Rod is 76 and his voice is pretty well shot. No Ronnie Lane and no Mac. Is it really The Faces without them? Just let it go, fellas.

In the United States the Faces are a one-hit wonder. One hit, nearly 50 years ago. Of course, everyone recognizes and knows whose voice it is on the record. So yeah, it'll be advertised as "Rod Stewart and the Faces, featuring Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones and Kenney Jones of The Who." I still don't see them playing arenas in the midwest, or anywhere else, except New York and maybe LA, and I doubt that they have the time, the energy, or the inclination to criss-cross the nation playing theaters.

In the vein of ABBA it seems. The point is to cash in. Rod can stick his toupée somehwere dark. He neglected the band when it was still alive and well. Now it's dead, just like Rod's voice.

Maybe put Jeff Beck on the bill and do a set of Faces and Jeff Beck group. Might attract a few more ticket sales.
