I don't know if it is the best one but it is one of the songs that crossed
my mind when Charlie passed. From Tattoo You, "Neighbours". I like the
video and the way Charlie hits the snare drum there. They never did
a good version of "Neighbours" live though.

There are a lot indeed, "Monkey Man" seems rather distinctive to me.

Haven't watched this video in years.
The shot with Charlie standing behind his drum kit directly after Mick sang "Cant believe you're gone" is quite emotional now

"Hold Back" = the snare drum beat is so strong, wild and unique...

You're right. I've always thought it was Steve Jordan on drum.

According to Nico Zentgraf CW played drums on eight of the ten on Dirty Work. Steve Jordan played drums on Too Rude, Ron Wood played drums on Sleep Tonight.

Neighbours is great. I remember the 82 tour very well and he was present in the mix. The indoor shows in Frankfurt are a good example. He played fantastic and very energetic.
But it's all of them. He was a very important part of the whole sound of the Stones.
What a loss his passing is!

Lol There you go.

Neighbours is among the few Stones songs I just can't stand.
Mainly because of the mix and the drum sound. An earlier version I liked better.

Down the Road Apiece. They're all clicked in, the early Stones.

Let Me Go. The drums are fantastic and crystal clear.

Another one that comes to mind, Going To A Go-Go. This one from Hampton, Virginia, 1981.
Watts carries the song with a steady beat, some wonderful saxophone tapestry from another
Watts, Ernie, and Jagger prancing around. Look at the interaction between Keith and Charlie
and Ernie from 01:45. Enjoy:

A short clip (2:09) from an interview with Charlie from 60 Minutes in 1993. Quite good.:

For me there's quite few, and this is certainly one of them...

Every element of the tune is perfecto - vocals, guitars, piano, bass, and.....the drums....

thumbs up thumbs up and I would add "Let It Loose". The way the drums enter the tune after the arpeggiated intro makes the song imo.

No way that’s Ronnie on Too Rude. On Sleep Tonight it’s quite clear that it’s an amateur playing the drums. Too Rude is another story.
